Barron Trump sparks bizarre conspiracy theory after debuting new look at America 250

Everyone’s favourite Trump family conspiracy theory is back - and this time, it’s aimed at the US President’s son, Barron.

The 20-year-old, who is the only son of the Republican leader, 80, and First Lady Melania Trump, 56, made a rare appearance at the UFC Freedom 250 event on Sunday (15 June), to celebrate both 250 years of America’s independence and his father’s 80th birthday.

The unique event saw the President hold an actual Ultimate Fighting Championship event on the South Lawn of the White House.

But, some people were more focused on Barron’s appearance, pointing out that he looks different than the last time we saw him in public.

And now, as usual, the internet has spiralled out of control and come up with a bizarre conspiracy theory that it’s not actually Barron, but is an actor or a body double.

As we know, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard this theory, as many social media detectives have run with the idea of a ‘fake Melania’ and a Melania body double previously.

Large sunglasses and minor changes in mannerisms and appearance have been enough to raise eyebrows and fuel the theory.

One X user wrote: “Dude, the photos of Barron Trump from last night look like a completely different character... They switched out the actor for Barron and didn't think we'd notice.”

A second defiantly penned: “That's not Barron. That's a 2.0 Central Casting Actor as were Trump & Mel.”

Meanwhile, a third person pulled up two side-by-side images of Barron taken a year apart and wrote: “There’s no way this is him, look at these photos together. Look at the features.”

A fourth chimed in with: “This Barron is not the one we have seen over the years. This one has two distinct freckles, one on either cheek. His eyebrows are more prominent, and he has more hair.”

While a fifth added, “That doesn’t look like Barron!!” and a sixth agreed, “Is that a body double?”

Someone else theorised: “That's the first thing I said when I saw this picture It doesn't even look like him. I know he's gonna grow up and look older, but come on.”

And another conspiracist guessed: “It was for security reasons. Can’t have the current and future president in the same place in a vulnerable situation like last night.”

Speaking about the idea of body doubles of the President, security expert Will Geddes previously told Tyla: “The reason why you would utilise a decoy is if you feel that security could be possibly compromised.

“So, if you're moving through a high-risk environment or you’re at a particularly high level of threat and you want to make sure that you are confusing the potential enemy.”

However, he also clarified that at super high-profile events attended by lots of people, a body double would ‘never ever be used’.

It's also very unlikely that the President's son would have a body double, and the real explanation is, boringly, more likely to be that Barron is just getting older. Not quite as exciting, sorry.
