Kelly Osbourne shares first social media post since dad Ozzy’s death with emotional tribute

Taking to Instagram last night, Kelly penned the following message on her Instagram story: "I feel unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had [heartbroken emoji]."

The line is a quote from Black Sabbath's 1972 song 'Changes', which Ozzy and Kelly released as a duet in 2003.

Osbourne passed away on the morning of Tuesday (22 July) passed away 'surrounded by love' at the age of 76.

A statement from the rock legend's family released on the day of his passing reads: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

"He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."

The message was signed off by his wife of 43 years, Sharon Osbourne, and their children, Jack, Kelly and Aimee. Louis Osbourne, his son with his ex-wife, Thelma Riley, also signed the statement.

Tributes for the singer came flooding in online, with Black Sabbath, Metallica, Sir Elton John, and Yungblud, who'd performed with Ozzy at Black Sabbath's farewell tour, all expressing their condolences.

Two days later, Sharon shared her first post on social media since her husband's death.

Ozzy was born John Michael Osbourne in Aston, Birmingham, and first rose to prominence with Black Sabbath in the 1970s, with the group enjoying critical acclaim with numerous hit songs, like 'Iron Man', 'War Pigs' and 'Paranoid'.

Osbourne soon became famously known as the 'Prince of Darkness' due to his heavy metal antics, including an infamous moment where he bit a bat's head off onstage in 1982.

Just a matter of weeks before his death, Osbourne issued an emotional final message to his adoring fans.

As he performed what would end up being his last gig, the singer said that it was 'so good to be on this stage' as he entered for the final time by rising on his large black throne through a trap door.

"It’s so good to be on this f**king stage. You have no idea. I f**king love you all. Let me see your hands in the air. You are the best, each and every one of you. God bless you all," he said.

"I don’t know what to say, man. You've no idea how I feel - thank you from the bottom of my heart," Osbourne said to the roaring crowd.

"You’re all f**king special. Let’s go crazy, come on," he concluded.

While Osbourne's cause of death has not yet been disclosed, he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease back in 2019.
