People are fuming at the findings - and rightly so!

A new study has reportedly claimed that women who wear a lot of makeup are seen to be less intelligent and more likely to have casual sex - and people are, rightly so, fuming.

According to This Morning, the research - conducted by the University of New South Wales in Australia - claims women who wear 'too much make up' are seen 'by both sexes' as being both less intelligent, and more likely to have casual sex.

The study was discussed by This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes (who is standing in for Holly Willoughby this week) - and it's fair to say everyone was pretty horrified.

Rochelle was absolutely raging at the study, with Phil adding: "I said I can't believe this research goes on.

"... New findings were from academics at the University of New South Wales... [revealed] women with make up were probably less bright and more likely to sleep around."

"Who conducts this research? It's just crazy," said Rochelle.

Sorry, what?!

And This Morning viewers were utterly horrified, with one person tweeting: "I'm with @Schofe why on earth is this being researched in the first place! I wear makeup for me not anyone else. There's a lot more pressing things they can research if they're running short of a good topic."

With another adding: "Everything that's wrong with the world. Judging others and making assumptions. Leave other people to look the way they want to."

And one said: "Who writes the absolute rubbish?"

"What a load of absolute rubbish. I have a degree, masters and work in a professional role. I get dressed into business dress everyday even though I am working from home including make up as it is a confidence boost and it's good to be presentable. Nothing knocking you if you don't either; each to their own however I think this story is absolute rubbish," another chipped in.

Meanwhile another called it "misogynistic" and one wrote: "I wear loads some days, and none other days. Does this mean my intelligence level varies?"

"Oh leave it out. There is no shame in a woman taking pride in her appearance or women who wear makeup for self confidence," said another.

"Makeup doesn't affect your intellectual ability nor make you have casual sex. Thats a woman's choice. Nothing wrong with either btw!!!!! It's 2021, for God's sake. I'll continue to wear makeup for my self confidence and be seen as less intelligent....give people a surprise when they realise I do have a brain behind all that foundation and mascara!"

We couldn't have put it better ourselves.
