People across TikTok are taking it upon themselves to correct one man's inaccurate claim that women in Ukraine aren't fighting in the war against Russia and are leaving men behind while they flee.

Popular TikTok creator @notpoliticalspeaking stirred up serious controversy when he said that feminists have "been really quiet lately" while men are asked to stay in Ukraine to fight for their country.

Combatting his argument, people took to TikTok themselves to tell other viewers that, not only was he totally misinformed, but his concerns were severely misplaced on the brink of a war. Watch below:

In his original post, the TikToker had written: "Facts #63 Once agian [sic] All the Men in Ukraine have to stay and fight. To protect the children, elderly and Women leaving the country.

"Where are all the Feminist at to say this is Unfair? Its [sic] been really quiet lately."

Not only are some women staying behind in Ukraine and confronting armed soldiers, but it's heavily documented that women make up 15 per cent of Ukraine's military force - a percentage that's likely increasing every day as Ukraine faces further threats.

Fellow TikTok user @ley.play.games was just one of many who was more than happy to correct this man's disinformation - as were countless others in the comment section.

Reacting to the original video, one person asked: "What does this even mean bro you focusing on the wrong things. Sad."

A second wrote: "Imagine seeing what’s going on in the world and your first thought is 'you know who needs a good roasting right now… the feminists'. 🥴"

While a third added: "Bloke did zero research before posting his opinion huh."

One viewer couldn't help but ask: "Were you expecting people to agree with you?" while another joked: "Oh wow it’s as if the patriarchy negatively impacts everyone and not just women!!"

Last week we told you about one Ukrainian woman who went viral after standing up to Russian soldiers unarmed, just hours after they invaded Ukraine.

While standing just a few feet away from the gun-wielding soldier, the woman shouts: “What the f*ck are you doing in our land?”

When the soldier tries to shut down their exchange by declaring that their conversation “will lead to nothing” and asks her to move on, the woman doubles down on her warning.
