Influencer and Made In Chelsea star Sophie Habboo was left 'mortified' after accidentally breaking a rule during her Buckingham Palace visit to meet Prince Charles.

The reality TV icon and her husband Jamie Laing were invited to the prestigious annual King's Trust Awards ceremony last month on June 26, where they recreated what turned into a pretty controversial video.

Now, in case you're not in the loop, Meghan Markle made headlines after sharing a pregnancy video last month (4 June) which saw herself and Prince Harry playfully dancing around the delivery room just before Princess Lilibet's birth in 2021.

However, it unfortunately triggered an avalanche of criticism from internet trolls labelling the light-hearted moment as 'cringe', as well as sharing their concern over the 'safety' of Lilibet amidst a whole a bunch of conspiracy theories.

Now, during their visit to meet King Charles a few weeks back, Jamie and Sophie - who are expecting their first chi took to Instagram to recreate Meghan and Harry's viral labour dance video.

Some reckoned that the couple, who were dancing to the notorious 'Baby Mama' song during a visit to Buckingham Palace, were poking fun at the Sussexes.

And now, in the latest update, the pair have opened up about a hilarious faux pas from that same day that left them both a bit red-faced.

Speaking about the exciting day on a recent episode of their podcast, Nearly Parents, Jamie explained how his wife went against protocol not once but five times - something Sophie admitted to being 'so embarrassed' about.

He recalled how the guests were instructed that under no circumstances were they to 'raise their hand and shake the King's hand until he raises his hand towards you'.

They were also briefed on how the interaction should go: slightly bow your head or curtsy, before holding your hand out once he does, and then call him Sir afterwards.

However, it seems Sophie was a little big eager - we get it, it’s a big moment - and she kept mistakenly thinking it was her turn.

Jamie said: "He kept looking towards Sophie, and as soon as he went towards Sophie, Sophie put her hand up, like this... and then he turned away and she put it back down again.

"And she did this about three or four times, and then what happened was he looked at her again, because he's just being polite. You're meant to wait until he puts his hand up!"

Cracking up, Jamie continued: "And then what happened was, the last time, he turned towards Sophie, Sophie put out her hand. She didn't withdraw, she just held it there.

"She just held it there and didn't move it until he came and shook her hand. Just holding it like that!"

Chiming in, Sophie laughed: "I thought I was missing my opportunity and I didn't listen to that, because they were talking and it's just noise in my ear. So I thought 'he's looking at me, is this my moment, I'm meant to shake and curtsy?' And I was buckling."

"I was mortified," she then confessed.
