Aussie singer Sia has become a grandmother at the age of 44, only two weeks after she revealed that she had adopted two sons.

In May of this year the music star announced she had adopted two teenage boys - aged 18 and 19 - who had grown up in the foster care system.

Now, in an even bigger surprise, Sia's family has grown further, with the youngest of her adoptive sons welcoming two children of his own.

All of which means the Grammy nominee has become a mother and a grandmother in just one year - how's that for swift progress, eh?!

The singer revealed the news during an interview with Zane Lowe (

The chandelier singer shared the happy news on DJ Zane Lowe's Apple Music podcast, saying: "My youngest son just had two babies. I'm a f**king grandma!'

"Oh my god, that's amazing," replied Zane, before going on to quip: "You went from zero to 100 real f**king quick, I'll give you that."

Sia went on to joke that she was taking a leaf out of the Kardashian clan's book when it came to grandparenting.

"They call me Nana!" she said. "I'm trying to get them to call me 'lovey', like Kris [Jenner]."

The Aussie hitmaker first revealed that she had adopted two sons in an interview with SiriusXM in May.

The famously private singer - who covers her face during public appearances - said: "I adopted two sons last year. They were 18, they're both 19 years old now.

"They were ageing out of the foster care system and yeah, I love them."

Since then, Sia has spoken about how her sons have enlightened her to the struggles highlighted by the Black Lives Matter movement.

Chatting to Zane, the chart-topper said: "I'm embarrassed that it took me to adopt two black sons to really understand what they go through on a daily basis."

She went on to say that she had fears for the injustices her sons might suffer on account of their skin colour, and revealed that she had said to them: "I don't want to see you in prison.

"With your history and the colour of your skin, I don't want to see you as that five percent that ends up in prison for life. I don't want that for you."

In a separate interview for the Kyle & Jackie O Show, Sia explained the troubled backgrounds her sons came from: "They had extremely traumatic lives and I had the resources to adopt them and give them the resources to deal with their trauma and any therapy for their problems and the difficulty they've faced."

Huge congratulations to Sia on her fast-growing family!
