A 13-year-old cancer survivor who was honoured by Donald Trump has revealed a new heartbreaking diagnosis.
Devarjaye 'DJ' Daniel made headlines back in March when he was sworn in as an honorary U.S. Secret Service agent by the American president.
“Tonight, DJ, we’re going to do you the biggest honor of them all,” President Trump said during his speech.

Emotional scenes saw him add: “I am asking our new Secret Service director, Sean Curran, to officially make you an agent of the United States Secret Service.”
As a small child in 2018, DJ was given just five months to live following a diagnosis of brain and spinal cancer, reports the USSS.
Despite the odds and following more than 13 brain surgeries, the teen has lived for more than six years since.

However, his father recently updated DJ’s supporters to let them know about a new challenge the boy is facing.
During a swearing-in ceremony in Texas, DJ’s father Theodis Daniel broke the news that ‘he does have three new tumours’.
He told FOX 7 Austin on May 19: “It's rough - there isn't a class that can teach you how to deal with it. You're hearing that your child has a nasty disease.”
The father added: “We're just going around showing people, ‘Hey, you do care for one another. Let's give compassion and let's try to join and help each other get through things.’"

Theodis added that DJ is ‘just winging it day-by-day’ in the wake of the sad news.
When his son was sworn in back in March, Theodis explained that the family are hopeful about the future, partly thanks to a research study that DJ is participating in.
Theodis said at the time that his son was 'beating the odds'.

During Trump’s speech, he explained that DJ has always dreamed of becoming a police officer.
"But in 2018, DJ was diagnosed with brain cancer,” the US president added.
He continued: "The doctors gave him five months, at most, to live. That was more than six years ago.
“Since that time, DJ and his dad have been on a quest to make his dream come true."

DJ has since appeared in an interview with co-host Natalie Winters on Steve Bannon's War Room where he urged: "Please stop being mean to President Trump because if I see you being mean to him, I’m coming after you."
As the interview came to an end, the teenager revealed he had just 'one more thing' to tell viewers before sending a very firm message to any Democrats sharing their criticisms over the president.
"If you’re a Democrat and you’re being mean to President Trump - I’m on your bumper," Daniel concluded.
