A couple have pushed the boat out on their gender reveal party, splashing an eye-watering sum on the occasion.

Instead of a more modest affair like a cake or a balloon popping, YouTuber and expectant dad Ste Hamilton opted for something a little more pricey. In this case, a Lamborghini car.

They spent £340k on their gender reveal.

The vehicle was to be painted in the colour which would reveal the gender of the baby to guests. This was blue for a baby boy and pink for a baby girl. There would then be a cover lifted to show the car off to excited guests.

Hamilton enlisted the help of car customiser Yianni Charalambous from Yiannimize to help with the project. Yiannimize is a specialist in high-end cars, so Charalambous would be the right person to help out with this project.

Describing it, Ste Hamilton said: "Yianni from Yiannimize wrapped my Lamborghini Urus for my baby's gender reveal party!

"We have been planning this for weeks and Yianni really helped us bring it to life by wrapping our Lamborghini Urus in the colour of the gender of our baby. The ultimate gender reveal party!"

Guests gathered for the big reveal, and were asked if they were 'team boy or team girl'.

Finally, the sides of the box dropped to reveal that the eye-wateringly expensive car had been painted blue, meaning that the pair would be having a boy.

After the event, Ste said: "I didn't want a boy or a girl more than the other, but when I saw it was a boy I think something came out inside me and was like 'yes'!

"I think if it was a girl I would have been the same, but we'll never know now until next time.

"Baby Cruze Eleven Hamilton is here to change the world."

He added: "It's been about 24 hours, it's still not sunk in. Super, super, super exciting."

Viewers on YouTube went into the comments to offer their congratulations. One said: "Awwww congratulations to you & Isabella!! It's a boy!! Woop! Can't wait to see baby Cruze the best gender reveal ever. You'll be fantastic parents."

Another posted: "Had the pleasure to be there and celebrate with you two such a moment. Yanni team did a cracking job, I love detail in everything I do, and the quality and detail (I've seen closely) is just wow."

A third wrote: "Congratulations to you both what a lovely way to announce baby Cruze."
