The porn habits of Americans on the day of the New York City Mayoral election have been revealed.
Not that you asked to know this, but Pornhub released its annual statistics, which detail all the categories, search terms, actors, and regional differences that occurred in 2025 when it pertained to watching adult content.
Pornhub’s Year in Review found differences between Gen Z and Millennial watching habits, the global most viewed categories, and now, what people were doing when Zohran Mamdani was elected as New York’s mayor on 4 November.
It was a day like no other when the youngest mayor since the early 1980s was given his role as the newest person to rule the city that never sleeps. But while history was being made, some were browsing Pornhub’s plethora of porn categories, and now the data has been released.

According to the porn app, the New York Times asked for the statistics on the election day, and they were quick to comply.

According to the data, on the day Mamdani was elected, traffic to the website was ‘below average throughout the morning until 10am’.
From there, it increased to just above average traffic at 14 percent, and then it dropped by 4pm to 13 percent until 10pm.
At this point, traffic plunged to 41 percent, which is quite unusual.
According to the site, ‘10pm is a prime time for nightly visits to Pornhub, so this accounts for a large number of users'. However, on this day, ‘traffic remained below average well into the early morning hours of November 5th'.
Maybe people were watching for the election results and then decided to go out and celebrate the results?
While there were some who were visiting the site, they were busy searching new things in light of the big day.
Per the data, the search result for ‘big butt’ was up a +957 per cent above average.

Point of View was also a popular choice on that day, and it was up by +546 per cent, as well as ‘big d*ck reaction’, which was clocked at +482 per ent.
As for the age range of those searching porn results, there were some notable differences between the18-35 age group and the 35+ age group, explained the site.
It went on to say the 18-35 age group were more ‘willing to give up their daily visit to Pornhub to get out and vote'.
It added: “They were also more likely to skip Pornhub in the evening in order to follow the election results. Between 6pm and 1am, traffic from the 18-35 age group fell further below average compared to their older counterparts. Their lowest point was at 10pm, when traffic dropped to –39%, while the 35+ group saw a smaller decrease of –32% for the same time period.”
Very interesting indeed.
