Woman sparks debate after being convinced her husband bought a campervan just to cheat on her

Woman sparks debate after being convinced her husband bought a campervan just to cheat on her

Reddit users thought the husband's explanation for why he bought the campervan didn't make any sense

If you’ve been convinced by your husband to buy a campervan, don’t be fooled.

One woman is sharing her story in real-time about a strange suspicion she has after she was asked by her husband whether they could purchase the van.

Citing that it was for work purposes, as he works from home, she said yes.

However, things are looking bleak after the wife walked into the van to smell another woman’s perfume.

With no other evidence to suggest foul play, she has enlisted the trusty help of the Reddit community to figure out whether he’s having a cheeky romp on the side or if it’s all above board and really used as a mobile office.

OK, so I think we all know how Reddit stories usually go, but as we haven’t received an update on this day-old story, there’s only speculation to go off.

Let’s get into it.

The user posted her dilemma to TrueOffMyChest subreddit for advice and the comments were more than helpful.

She began: “I think my husband’s having an affair in our campervan.”

Explaining her reasoning, she continued: “My husband convinced me to buy a campervan during lockdown back in 2020 - but I think I’m starting to regret the decision.

“My female intuition is telling me he’s using it to get up to no good…. We only really use the camper in the summer but recently my husband (who works from home) seems to be spending more time there using it as an excuse to go on overnight work trips or saying he uses it as his office… which is kind of plausible I suppose.

“I haven’t got any hard evidence, but I went in there the other day and there was a stench of female perfume and it definitely wasn’t mine.

"Should I be worried? Are campervan affairs a thing now?”

Now, it’s good to note that not every campervan owner is going around picking up chicks and doing the deed in the back, however, it’s pretty peculiar that someone working from home is taking a camper to overnight work trips instead of booking a hotel. But that’s just me.

But some people clocked on to that too…

One person wrote: “He works from home but he goes on overnight work trips? In what world does that make sense?

“Does the inside of the campervan look like it could be an office? Eg does he keep pens and paper there?

"Maybe you should have a closer look around and try to find either home-office related things or things that might belong to another woman.”

To which the original poster replied: “I'd find the whole working from home thing but going on work trips weird too, but he's got clients all over the UK (or so I'm told...) and I'd never really questioned it until now.

“When I went in the camper the other day it seemed legit.. he had some paperwork strewn about the table, but again... I'm thinking it might just be to cover his tracks at this point.”

Hmm…Red flag or no?

Another gave her some solid advice to catch him in the act: “I'd definitely show up to surprise him with his favourite drinks, snacks, and takeout, around 9pm local time, like a good wife who has nothing to worry about.

“Bring a carbonated drink with a bright, deeply staining colour like orange or purple, and be prepared to shake the shit out of it and spray it all over him and the side piece, if needed. If not, pour a glass and enjoy a little get away.”

Others thought he may just need time to himself, or that he could even be a secret serial killer!

As this is all for now, there might be a plot twist later down the line. Hold on tight.
