'Astral sex' explained as expert reveals whether you’ve actually experienced it

With human beings having inhabited the earth for around 300,000 years, you'd think by know we'd know everything there is to know about sex.

Apparently, however, there's a brand new, recently-discovered intimacy trend that has lovers all over the world seeing stars - literally.

Knows as 'astral sex', this whacky craze sees couples spicing up their sex lives whilst also improving their mental wellbeing.

The only downside? We haven't been part-taking in it sooner...

What exactly is 'astral sex'?

As we've said, this unconventional means of intimacy doesn't actually centre at all on the traditional means of giving and receiving physical pleasure from your other half.

It actually has a special emphasis on reaching a higher, spiritual plane, with some claiming that astral sex has allowed them to be lifted outside of their own body.

That's why it's often also referred to as 'sex for the soul', as it sees your spirit project into another realm - where it can apparently have further sex with your partners soul - without the need to actually touch one another.

Okay, we admit, it sounds downright bizarre and totally made-up.

But some sexual experimenters have since spoken out about their own experience of 'astral sex', claiming that - though it's difficult to master - the rewards are unsurmountable.

What do experts say about it?

According to author Graham Nicholls, 'astral sex' is 'union of two unconscious experiences'.

"In some of the esoteric literature, astral sex has been called 'melding,' which gives an idea of what the experience is like," he adds. "It's more like the entire self, or inner experience is shared and unified with another person."

Astral projection guru Steve G. Jones also shared his thoughts on the matter.

"Feedback is very important during sexual intercourse and that's sometimes lost in the physical world," he told press.

"But in the astral world, feedback is automatic because you're seeing your soul."

How do you do it?

The experiences of individuals who claim to have enjoyed 'astral sex' before differ greatly depending on the person.

Some people experience it unintentionally mid sleep, and describe the out-of-body sensational as resembling the sensation which occurs when you suddenly 'fall out of your tree' in the night, or suddenly endure a falling phenomena.

Others, however, say they can enjoy 'astral sex' by actively leaving their physical body, claiming it's something they're in control of.

According to 'sexperts' at Keen.com, you can slowly introduce your body and soul to the concept of 'astral sex' by lying down in bed and relaxing as much as possible, until you reach a wholly meditative state.

All you need to do, is imagine your soul sitting up and climbing out of your physical body.

You can either do this beside your partner, so that you can enjoy it together, or you can do so alone, in the hope that your soul will meet that of another in the higher plane.

Once free, your spirit will roam until it finds someone else's, with the two souls penetrating one another without your physical body ever having to move.

Hey - you know what they say? Don't knock it 'til you've tried it...
