Mum desperate for daughter to leave husband is begging for him to have a vasectomy

She claims her grandchildren are 'suffering' because of him

A mum-of-seven has revealed how her own mother is desperate for her to leave her husband and keeps begging to pay for his vasectomy.

Married couple Dan and Janna appeared on Dr Phil to share their tricky situation.

The husband and wife have been married for 15 years and share seven children together — Destiny, 14, Jeda, 13, Tahila, 11, Jubile, nine, Jericho, seven, Mercy, four, and Zakira, one.

However, they are both unemployed, leaving them without heat or running water and on the verge of losing their home.

Dan explained: "The water's been shut off, the gas has been shut off, and this house is in foreclosure because I don't have a job."

But, while the couple say their difficult living situation is 'God's will' and that they're 'being led by the Lord,' Janna's mum Carol thinks her daughter should've left Dan years ago.

"My mum doesn't like Dan at all because in her mind Dan doesn't provide for his family," Janna explained.

Mum-of-seven Janna says her mother is desperate for her to leave her husband.

"I see my mum as controlling, and she judges us, but she doesn't know all the facts. She believes she knows everything, and we basically don't have a clue."

But Carol has a different perspective.

"If I were in Janna's place, I wouldn't put up with it. I would have left him long ago," she said.

"They're living in a house with cement floors, they don't have heating, they don't have hot water - it's an intolerable situation, in my opinion."

Carol, who said she's worried about her grandchildren, claims that they're 'suffering' because of this man.

She's even gone as far as offering to pay for a vasectomy for Dan, sending letters to her daughter and son-in-law telling them to get the procedure following the birth of their third child.

"I've offered to pay for a vasectomy for Dan, and it sounded like I was expecting him to get butchered, not to have a simple vasectomy.

"It just didn't make any sense to me how someone could live the way she has to live and really love this other person."

Carol has even offered to pay for her son-in-law's vasectomy to stop the unemployed couple from having more children.

Janna said that while she's 'hardened' herself to the situation, it does make her 'really sad' and she wishes her mum would acknowledge what she's going through.

Dr Phil pointed out that Carol and her partner Rich gave the couple $50,000 (£39,000) to pay for the their entire rent from January for a whole year.

The TV personality then asked Dan why he hasn't gotten a job to support his family.

"I am not unwilling to go get a job," he said. "And in fact, when I have put out resumes to get a job, you know, there's been one time where I did, but mostly it seems like I'm led in a different direction.

"Without responses from being able to get a job. So then I've taken that as leading of the Lord, what I should do. I'm taking steps and he's directing my path."
