We can play Mrs Hinch protegé's all we like, but when it comes to cleaning the oven, there really is no harder task.

The oven door is the nemesis of cleaning jobs, with thick grease, grime and char proving impossible to scrub off unless you use harsh chemicals - something no one wants floating around their house.

That was until we discovered a super clever hack for getting grease off your over door. The best part is it requires one simple purchase from Amazon and there's NO chemicals involved.

The trick was shared by professional cleaners Royal Arsenal Cleaning over on their Instagram.

Posting a photo of a half cleaned oven - with one side thick with grime and the other sparkling clean - the cleaners teased their followers: "Guess which cleaning method we used on this oven door? I will give you a clue - we did not use chemicals."


After some guesses - including that they'd tackled it with a steamcleaner and a combo of baking soda and vinegar - the London-based service finally revealed their secret weapon.

"We used a heavy duty scraper to scrape the burnt on grease," they revealed, following up: "We do use steam cleaner but this was done by scraping."
