Woman vows never to use cordless again after being left 'disgusted' with contents of vacuum

People are flooding to social media in horror over a woman's discovery of how much dirt her cordless vacuums had left behind.

People are flooding to social media in horror over a woman's discovery of how much dirt her cordless vacuums had left behind.

Hoovering - one of the more enjoyable household chores in my opinion, when compared to scrubbing the shower, bleaching the toilet or making a bed. You can plug in your headphones and dance around your kitchen swiping back and forth, looking in glee as little particles of dust and grime get sucked up into oblivion.

Alas, how brand spanking new you make your home look - which affects how cheerily you prance around while on clean-up duty - very much depends on what type of hoover you have.

Taking to Facebook's 'Cleaning tips and tricks' group, user Lyndsey Garvey shared a photograph of her latest corded hoover and her dog sat in the background.

The image shows a colossal amount of dust, dirt and grime in the see-through collector container - it looks like Lyndsey hasn't hoovered her house in months.

The caption reads: "I’ve two different cordless shark vacuums in the past four years. Made the switch to a corded one today.

"This is after hoovering just one room, which was previously hoovered every single day!

"Disgusted, I’ll never go back to cordless!"

The photo has amassed over 70,000 reactions, with other Facebook users having flocked to the post to weigh in on the issue.

One user said: "I went to a cordless vacuum about 8 months ago and I was just thinking the other day since I did my carpet seems so much more dirty now and I vacuum way more now then I did before.."

"Yeh cordless sucks. I had one before and it didn't even want to really pick up crumbs . Suction sucks on them," another added.

A third commented: "Love how your labs laid behind it looking like not from me guys it’s not from me."

And a fourth said: "I have a cordless for those quick messes like the under the kitchen table at lunch time or to use for the car etc but corded is so much better. X."

Lyndsey goes on to share a link to her corded Shark hoover.

The hoover - named the 'Shark Upright Vaccum Cleaner [NZ801UK] Powered Lift-Away with Anti-Hair Wrap Technology, White and Orange'.

And it's not just Lyndsey who advocates for the hoover, other users with the same device taking to the comments to praise the vacuum.

One user said: "I have this vacuum, it was legit the best investment I've ever made. If your a mom with small messy kids you NEED this!"

"Yeh cordless sucks. I had one before and it didn't even want to really pick up crumbs . Suction sucks on them," a second said.

And a third added: "I’ve got this model & love it. It’s also mega easy to clean. 'Tip' soak your filters & the orange brush underneath in zoflora then dry on the line. When you Hoover it smells lovely."
