Groom shares bride’s ‘shocking’ secret during wedding toast which nearly ends marriage

Hilarious footage shows a groom revealing his new wife’s ‘shocking’ secret during a wedding toast, having gone viral on TikTok after leaving his horrified wife hiding behind her hands.
Successful wedding speeches have to either be downright hilarious or tear-jerkingly emotional - some might even be both, though that’s a tough balance to strike.
One groom opted to go for the former, joking that his new marriage ‘could be over’ by the time the night was out.

A video shared on TikTok last year showed Ian Young’s toast going down a storm with everyone - other than his blushing bride Katie, that is.
The clip, which was shared by wedding videographer Knoxland Films, was captioned: “Groom reveals shocking scandal on bride during toasts.”
It’s since had two million views on the platform, along with more than 100,000 likes.
Ian began: “I do feel that Katie and I actually need to be a little more honest with you all today.
“David the celebrant mentioned that we met for the first time at the cricket club, got chatting, and shared a kiss later that night.
“Whilst that is true, we left out a few bits along the way.”
The speech was already getting some laughs from the guests, presumably either from those who knew the story already or from those apprehensive to hear what he was about to say.
Ian said he would ‘fill in the blanks’, explaining how they did really meet at the cricket club, but that their night took a bit of a turn shortly after they shared their first kiss.
He continued: “After that, I apologised for my lack of chat and although she’ll deny it to this day, she said to me, ‘Why don’t you take my number and we can meet up another time.’
“A bit thirsty if you ask me - but I was so out of practice that I didn’t even take her number and instead went outside to get us a couple of drinks being the gentleman that I am.”
When Ian returned with the drinks, he walked over to find Katie snogging another bloke.
He went on: “I realise now this is a fairly common occurrence for Kate.”
By this point, a mortified Katie was hiding her head in her hands as the room broke into laughter.
“In true style of my own, I just downed the two drinks and went back on the dance floor,” Ian said, adding that he still felt ‘nervous to go to the bar and leave Katie unattended’.
“This marriage could be over tonight,” he joked.
