Greggs threatens to refuse service to any customers who do ‘rude’ habit

It seems many of us have been forgetting our manners when we go to get a sausage roll or two.

We all love a Greggs sausage roll every now and again, but it seems some of us have lost our manners.

The popular high-street chain is reportedly going to 'refuse to serve' customers who are guilty of some rude behaviours.

It comes after customers are turning into 'zombies' thanks to their phones, and it could mean you miss out on the returning festive bake if you don't pay attention.

Constant scrolling, swiping, playing videos or music out loud has meant many just aren't paying attention.

Chances are you've been stuck waiting behind someone who doesn't listen when they're called forward because they're watching a TikTok.

Now, at least one branch of Greggs has put up a sign warning about antisocial behaviours.

The branch in Croydon, South London, hit out at people who have their headphones or AirPods seemingly glued on.

They've put up a sign that reads: “When in queue, remove your headphone/AirPods and come off phones or we may have to refuse service.”

A staff member told The Sun: “We get more and more customers coming in who seem to be lost in another world."

Time is of the essence for people on their lunch break, so Greggs tries to serve people as quickly as they can, with the staff member elaborating: “We try to be helpful and get everyone served quickly during busy times but it’s impossible if customers can’t hear a word you’re saying.

“The sign is pretty blunt but we have no option.”

Another staff member shared their anger online about the rudeness of customers nowadays.

They fumed: “Can people please stop talking on the phone when placing an order! It’s rude to workers because we have to wait until you stop.

“I have got to the point where I will just ask what we are required to. I do not care if it interrupts your call, I am not going to wait for you to finish when there are people behind you. Stop doing it.”

It's not just Greggs where people are annoyed either, with other customer service workers joining in with the complaint.

"Not greggs but I once had a customer loudly talk on the phone whilst I was serving her and I said I'm just going to serve the next customer whilst you're on your call because I find it rude", one worker explained.

"She shouted at me," she added.

Another social media user agreed with the idea, replying: "Good, it's really bad manners!"

So consider yourself warned, that TikTok video can wait else you might go hungry.
