Google has just revealed who the most searched person of 2025 is, and the reason behind the surge of searches follows a tragic true-crime case.
According to Google Trends, the individual who received the most searches was 20-year-old singer D4vd, who placed ahead of Kendrick Lamar, Jimmy Kimmel, and Pope Leo XIV in the top five.
The popularity of his name as a search term follows the horrifying news surrounding him a few months back in September.
Fifteen-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was discovered in a severely decomposed state in the front boot of a car registered to the singer, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, after vanishing in April 2024 at the age of thirteen.

The vehicle surfaced in an impound lot in Los Angeles months later.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has confirmed that the case is now being treated as an 'investigation into murder'.
Police had previously held back from stating whether the case was being classed as a homicide while they waited for the medical examiner’s assessment.
Then, earlier this month, the cause of death was listed as 'deferred', and a later statement to NBC4 Investigates suggested that Celeste may have died in the spring.
Reports initially stated that D4vd was being considered a suspect, but he and his representatives have not yet commented publicly on the matter.
Before he was identified as a potential suspect, it emerged that he had received a parking ticket in the Hollywood Hills less than two weeks before the body was found.
Local residents also claimed the Tesla registered to him had been left in their area for more than a month.

The LA Times later noted that detectives were examining whether Celeste’s body had been frozen before being moved to the vehicle.
According to the outlet, Detective Joshua Byers' court documents claimed that making autopsy findings public 'will reveal or tend to reveal the ongoing investigation and the integrity of the investigation as well as the identity of witnesses and/or informants who are cooperating with law enforcement and the content of the information they have provided, which could endanger the lives of witnesses and/or compromise the investigation'.
Amid the continuing investigation, D4vd cancelled his US tour and abandoned plans for a deluxe edition of his debut album, Withered.
His UK and European shows have since been called off as well, while his manager, Josh Marshall, has publicly rejected claims made on TikTok suggesting his own involvement in the case.
Tyla has reached out to D4vd's representatives for comment.
