The family of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez said they are 'heartbroken' after she was found dead inside the boot of a car registered to singer d4vd.
For those who aren't yet familiar with the horrific story, the young girl had been missing since 5 April 2024 and was last seen in Lake Elsinore, California, when she was just 13 years old.
Last week (8 September), police found a Tesla car that was reportedly registered to the 20-year-old musician after responding to reports of a foul smell coming from a tow yard in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
Inside, they discovered a decomposed body, which had been dismembered, prompting a death inquiry and investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Los Angeles' County Medical Examiner told press last week, as per BBC, that the remains discovered were those of a female, around 5ft 2in tall (157cm).
It was reported that she had wavy black hair and was wearing a tube top and black leggings at the time of her discovery.

The remains have since tragically been identified as those of the 15-year-old, with officials yet to determine her cause or time of death.

As per the BBC, the car in question is registered to singer d4vd, real name David Anthony Burke.
D4vd is an American singer who began posting music to Soundcloud in 2021, and has found huge success with his songs going viral on TikTok in recent years.
He's best known for his hit tracks 'Here With Me' and 'Romantic Homicide' and has several million followers on social media.
Following the discovery, he cancelled a show in Seattle which was part of his Withered tour, and it is not known at present if the tour will continue.

Police have not commented on any potential connection between d4vd and Celeste, and TMZ reported that he was co-operating with investigators.

Now, Celeste's family have broken their silence after her death was revealed and has set up a GoFundMe to help with the funeral costs.
The description of the fundraiser read: "As many of you know, Celeste Rivas Hernandez has been identified as the body found last week.

"She was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. Her family is heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss."
It added: "They are seeking help to lay her body to rest. Any funds you are able to donate are greatly appreciated."
The message was signed off by 'the Rivas Hernandez family' and the GoFundMe currently sits at over $11,000 (£8,150).
"At this time, the LAPD does not have a crime classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death. Thus, we do not have any suspect information at this time," the LAPD said in a statement to NBC News on Wednesday (17 September).
