Police have provided an update on their investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was discovered in a car.
The teenager was found 'decomposed' in the trunk of a Tesla, which is reportedly registered to a singer, d4vd, after a 'foul smell' was reported coming from it.
The singer's real name is David Anthony Burke.
Celeste was first reported missing on April 5, 2024, after she was last seen in Lake Elsinore, California.

It was also confirmed that detectives from the Robbery-Homicide Division have served a search warrant to a local address in connection with Celeste's death, and an officer confirmed the car had been at the site for several days before the discovery was made.

LAPD had previously shared a statement with NBC on Wednesday, September 16, saying: "At this time, the LAPD does not have a crime classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death. Thus, we do not have any suspect information at this time."
Authorities did confirm that they are treating Celeste's death as a homicide.

The singer shot to fame after he started writing and releasing music online.
Criminal charges have not been filed in connection with Rivas’ death.
