Decomposed body found in rapper d4vd's car identified as missing 15-year-old

Police have since confirmed that the body is that of teenager Celeste Rivas

The body of a missing teenage girl has been discovered in a vehicle belonging to New York-born musician, 'd4vd'.

A Tesla car reportedly registered to the 20-year-old TikTok star was first found by member of the city's police force in a tow yard on Monday (15 Sept), at around 12.20am local time.

After approaching the vehicle, officers reportedly noticed a 'foul odour' being omitted from inside, an LAPD spokesperson told The Independent.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the source of the smell was possible human remains, located in the car boot.

As such, a death enquiry was subsequently launched.

Los Angeles' County Medical Examiner told press last week (as per BBC), that the remains discovered were that of a female, of around 5ft 2in tall (157cm).

It was also reported that she had wavy black hair, and was wearing a tube top and black leggings at the time of her discovery.

The woman's right index finger also bore a tattoo that read, 'Shh'.

Coroners later discovered that the body was that of teenager Celeste Rivas, who disappeared from her Lake Elsinore, California home in April of last year, aged just 13, as per a missing person's flyer obtained by CBS.

Her cause and time of death remain unknown at this point.

"At this time, the LAPD does not have a crime classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death," a LAPD spokesperson previously confessed. "Thus, we do not have any suspect information at this time."

It was ruled early on in the process that the vehicle had likely been left at the tow yard for 'a couple of days', prior to Rivas' body being found.

Furthermore, according to NBC, her remains were not intact at the time of her discovery, leading police to believe she'd been dead for some time.

Despite the same police representative telling The Independent that the authorities currently 'do not have information on the owner of the vehicle', ABC 7 Eyewitness News have since linked the 2023 Tesla to a Texas address associated with 'd4vd' - real name David Anthony Burke.

The rising star boasts several million followers on social media, being famed for TikTok hits including 'Here With Me', and 'Romantic Homicide'.

At the time that Rivas' remains were discovered inside the vehicle, 'd4vd' was in the midst of his Withered tour, having released his debut album in the months prior.

A performance he was supposed to give in Seattle on Wednesday (17 Sept) was cancelled, according to the BBC, however, 'd4vd' is co-operating with the authorities.

The musician is said to have an identical tattoo to Rivas (as per TMZ), whilst The Sun alleges he has a song titled 'Celeste' on SoundCloud.

"Oh, Celeste / The girl with my name tattooed on her chest / Smell her on my clothes like cigarettes / I hear her voice each time I take a breath / I’m obsessed," he is said to sing.

"Afraid you'll only love me when undressed / But you look so damn gorgeous in that dress / Missing you so much makes me depressed / But I digress, because...".
