Do you have a craving for croissants, a love of all things loaf-shaped, a passion for le pain?

Well, the good news is that you can now buy yourself - or indeed the carb lover in your life - a pair of cosy, comfy slippers resembling loafs of bread.

Finally, someone throwing carbs and footwear into the same (bread) mix. When you think about it, it's an obvious pairing. Right...?

You may think we're taking the rise with this half-baked idea (sorry) - but you'd be wrong.

The fluffy foot warmers are sold by quirky gifting company Firebox. Priced at £19.99 (not too much dough, ha) the slippers come in two colour options - white and brown, naturally.

The slippers are described as being 'lovingly kneaded and baked to perfection by slipper experts' (

A mixed grain option for the indecisive isn't available just yet, but the current models are marketed at being 'gluten-free for all you coeliacs out there'. Oh Firebox, you clever grainiacs.

Whether they're made in the shape of crusty rolls, fluffy rolls or French baguettes isn't entirely clear - but regardless, you knead them in your life.

Size-wise, the slipper are a one-size-fits all design.

Described as being 'lovingly kneaded and baked to perfection by slipper experts' the slippers are as pillowy-soft as an oven-fresh loaf, with a generous layer of cushioning.

"These must be the most hilarious Christmas stocking present I have bought," wrote one excited shopper in an online review. "They are even warm and comfortable. We live in France."

"I want to eat them! You could find these in a bakery... they literally look good enough to eat and are very comfy. Buy them," commented another.

"These are the funniest slippers ever! My daughter saw them and bought a pair for a Xmas present!" added a third enthusiastic reviewer.

Why don't you ask for a pair for Christmas? Really, it's the yeast Santa could do...
