A mother has revealed the one diet that helped her to lose six stone after years of struggling with her weight.
Meg Scott, who is a biomedical science student from Yorkshire, put on five stone in a year after struggling with her mental health and taking part in binge eating habits.
She said: "I was binging on food to comfort my depression, and the pills for the depression didn't help those cravings either.”
Meg explained that she was drinking three glasses of wine and loading up on daily sugar and carbohydrates in a bid to relax herself.

But instead, it piled on the weight and at her heaviest, she weighed 16st and 12lbs.
It wasn’t until December last year that she decided to take the plunge and make some changes to her diet.

Ever since then, she’s seen amazing results, but the leftover skin has meant she is in pain and can’t live her life the way she wants to.
Meg said she now has to wear dresses and can’t wear leggings without it causing paid due to her loose skin being rubbed.
"I also tried to go on a hike with my son once, which felt very awkward as I had to wear a dress to stop my pain,” she explained. "I also feel like I have put a lot of effort into loosing this weight, I should be able to enjoy wearing gym leggings and trousers but this loose skin is a heart breaking pain because I can't do any of that and it hurts.”
All in all, the mum said she was doing this for her son, sharing how she wants him to have her ‘fun mum back’ as she’s no longer fun when she is in pain every day.
But to do this, she needs to undergo a skin removal surgery which will cost £7,000.

Her Japanese based diet that focuses on a calorie deficit, fibre, eating protein and fruit, allowed her to lose 6st in 11 months and is now 10st 11lbs.
Meg began to eat gut yogurts, watch her alcohol consumption, and also build a home gym so she could workout three times a week.
She is now hoping to raise £4,000 to afford her surgery.
She said: "I focus mainly on a Japanese based diet now which works for me.
"That basically means I tend to eat a good balance of proteins, vegetables and carbs.”
The mum said she is using a calorie calculator and TDEE to measure her basal metabolic rate to ensure she’s on the right path, noting that she allows herself some occasional treats for balance, too.
She said: "It's really important to eat fibre and healthy foods, and sometimes I will have a donut or chocolate as this helps to not binge eat on unhealthy foods."
However, she says she could be even more active and healthy if her loose skin was removed.
