Move over Prince William and Harry, it's time for a new royal to take the spotlight.

That's right, a lesser known regal man is making headlines, with social media obsessing over him and fans dubbing him the 'hottest' royal and 'Britain's most eligible bachelor'.

Before they settled down with Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, the Duke of Sussex and Prince of Wales were once renowned for being two of the most eligible royal bachelors in the world.

And now, although you may not have heard of him yet, people on the internet have taken it upon themselves to appoint Alexander Charles Ogilvy the role.

The 29-year-old is the son of James and Julia Ogilvy, and the grandson of Princess Alexandra, the first cousin of and bridesmaid to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

He celebrated his 29th birthday earlier this month and he's 60th in line for the throne, so seeing him rule over the UK is very unlikely.

But according to MailOnline, he could become a household name sooner than expected.

The publication has reported that he could be set to ride in next year's Trooping the Colour parade after he graduated from the Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst this August.

He was pictured in uniform for his passing-out parade at the Berkshire school earlier this year and has since signed up to the prestigious Household Cavalry and commissioned into the Blues and Royals.

According to Cosmopolitan, Alexander is single at the moment but has previously been linked romantically to 'several it-girls'.

He attended Brown University, where he studied Computer Science and Economics, and reportedly dated Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo, who is the granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy.

According to Tatler, he's also been romantically involved with model and sustainability activist Isabella Charlotta Poppius.

Although he mainly keeps out of the spotlight and has Instagram account on private, he caused quite the stir when videos of him arriving for the late Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022 went viral on TikTok.

And a similar phenomenon occurred when he attended the Duchess of Kent's funeral earlier this year to pay his respects.

His sister Flora Vesterberg, whose account is on public, took to Instagram earlier this month to wish him a happy birthday and share a behind the scenes snap from her wedding.

She wrote: "Wishing my lovely brother Alexander a happy birthday tomorrow. Very proud of our British Army Officer (in the Blues and Royals cavalry regiment). It’s been an extraordinary year for you. #London."

And back in August for his graduation, his grandmother Princess Alexandra of Kent embarked on a rare public outing to be in attendance and support him.

The cousin of the late Queen celebrated at the event alongside his sister Flora and his parents, James and Julia Ogilvy.

For those who aren't familiar with the spectacle, the Sovereign’s Parade is a special event that marks the end of an Officer Cadet’s time at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as they are commissioned into the British Army and other overseas armies.

It takes place three times a year and the parade is a closed event for friends and family of those successfully Commissioning from the course.
