Mum shares how to get a fitted sheet onto a mattress first time and people can't believe they didn't know

We're definitely using this trick next time

Fitting a sheet on the bed can be a pain, especially when you're grappling with a king-size or super-king mattress.

We've lost count of how many times we've fitted it the wrong way around, before taking it all off and starting again.

But now, one mum has revealed a handy trick to getting it right first time - and we can't believe we never thought of this earlier.

Writing on the Facebook group Mums Who Clean, the woman, 52, asked others not to judge, but explained she had never heard of this trick.

“I’m 52 and I’ve just found out something today that is, for me anyway, a game changer!!” she wrote.

"No laughing - no judgement... tell the truth. How many of you knew that when putting on bedding (fitted sheets/top sheets) the label always goes top left or bottom right?

Plenty of others admitted they too had no idea, with many calling it a 'game changer'.

One wrote: “Wow you learn something new every day."

While another said: “Omg the game just changed. I just recently got a king bed and I’m like why is this sh*t not fitting. Thank you so much!”

And a third said: “I’m 56 and never new this, but I’ve never had a problem with putting on fitted sheets either."

“I said earlier on this post that I’m 53 and didn’t know this. BUT!!!!! I tried it yest as I washed my sheets and wahoooooo it worked," said a fourth.

While getting the fitted sheet right can be tricky, putting a new cover on your duvet is also mega frustrating.

Now, one woman has come up with a genius way to make the bed in just a few minutes, and people are swearing by it.

TikToker Brooke Mason (@brookelmason) talked her followers through the manoeuvre step-by-step.

"So the first thing you're gonna do is turn the duvet cover inside out and lay it on your bed with the buttons facing the bottom of the bed," Brooke begins.

"Next," she says, "you're gonna lay your duvet insert over on top of that and tie all four corners. If your duvet doesn't have ties, that's ok, it should still work the same.

"Then you're gonna roll your duvet like a burrito as tight as possible from the top to the bottom.

"This next part is where it gets a little tricky. You're going to find the opening at the bottom of the duvet where you would normally button the buttons, and you're going to wrap that opening around your burrito creation, essentially turning it inside out.

"Once that's done, you'll see it starts to unroll... so all you'll have to do is roll it back out from the bottom to the top. Then you can just shake it out to get it all even."
