No doubt, you've heard the new that we've got yet another Toy Story on the horizon after what feels like a lifetime of waiting since the last one.

Yep, you heard that right, the eagerly-anticipated Toy Story 5 will be gracing our screens as soon as June 2026 - a whole seven years since Toy Story 4 came out in 2019.

The beloved film franchise is arguably one of Pixar's greatest feats, but it's clear some fans had some pretty divided opinions on the upcoming sequel, after finding out what plot is going to be.

Check out the teaser for Toy Story 5 here.

Now, the concern over the next addition to the franchise was namely due to the fact that the ending of Toy Story 4, was so, well, perfect.

In case you need your memory refreshing, Toy Story 4 featured Woody and Little Bo Peep heavily, with the toys finding her at a carnival, years after she was given away.

In an emotional goodbye, Woody leaves the other toys - with Buzz assuring him that their kid will be okay without him.

A bunch of fans rushed to social media to share their worries with one X user writing: "I'm confused? Woody stayed at the fair with Bo Peep right? how is he back with them."

A second agreed: "Where's Bo Peep? I thought Woody abandoned his friends to be with her."

"Mind you Toy Story 4 ended with woody leaving his family behind to live a child free life with Bo Peep," penned a another. "Now the first look of TS5 and Woody is back with the gang, no Bo Peep in sight, and the trash fork in back. We’ve lost the plot so bad."

And a final X user echoed: "So Woody just moves back in with the gang after going on the road for his new life with Bo Peep, just throwing it all away to move back in with Bonnie?"

However, while some reckoned the franchise should have ended there and then, others were excited by the plot details surrounding a certain 'iPad kid', which sees the toys having to compete with electronic apparently makes the whole thing worthwhile.

"WAIT GUYS THE ACTUAL PLOT FOR TOY STORY 5 IS ABOUT HOW iPAD KIDS ARE BAD?!?!?! I THOUGHT EVERYONE WAS KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" exclaimed on fan of the concept.

A second chirped: "I hate bad sequels as much as the next person but the thought of Toy Story 5 potentially having a plot that involves an iPad kid that doesn't play with toys anymore is hella creative."

"People are complaining about Toy Story 5 but the plot is the toys going up against the iPads lol," a third chimed in. "I’m not gonna go see it but yea that’s a storyline that hits with today's youth."

And a final X user added: "I’m actually very excited for Toy Story 5.

"That plot is actually super sad because it’s true. Technology taking over toys."
