Kim Kardashian sparks debate after revealing real reason she ‘forgot’ daughter North inside hotel

Kim Kardashian has finally addressed the viral claim that she 'forgot' her daughter North while leaving a hotel in Paris back in 2014.

The SKIMS founder, 44, set the record straight on Saturday (12 July) over a decade after the widely-shared video first emerged on social media.

For those who aren’t familiar, Kim was enjoying a trip in the French capital at the time and was spotted leaving her hotel room to the usual horde of paparazzi and cameras.

She strutted out in an all-pink outfit and made her way towards a car that was waiting for her, before quickly stopping and turning back around.

Kim then headed back inside the building and returned outside again, this time holding her daughter North, who was one-year-old at the time.

The clip sparked backlash at the time, with some people brutally questioning The Kardashians star’s parenting skills as the rumour started that she had forgotten North and had to go back inside to get her.

However, Kim has now revealed what really went down - and it’s the most Kim Kardashian response ever.

Posting to her 365 million followers on Instagram, the American reality star reshared a meme of the viral clip, where someone had written: “My favourite Kardashian moment is when Kim forgot North in a hotel room.”

She wrote alongside it: “I didn't forget her!' I wanted to show the look off before holding her bc her outfit didn't match mine!! I didn't forget her!!!”

So, it turns out it was all for the commitment of getting a good picture in her outfit rather than a lapse in memory.

However, since Kim randomly decided to spill the beans on what really happened, Kardashian fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts.

On Reddit, one user joked: “Not Kim taking 3-5+ business years to address this incident.

“In all honesty I actually believe her, I still found it funny. Has she really not given this explanation until now?”

Others chimed in with: “This is the only relatable Kim moment” and “Her outfit didn’t match… omg!”

However, other users claimed to remember another reason Kim had previously given - and it was nothing to do with matching outfits.

One Redditor questioned: “Is this real because I remember her saying something about leaving her car seat at the time. Nothing about the outfit.”

Others agreed: “Yes I remember something about the car seat too” and “Yeah. She said she wanted to make sure the car seat was there because previously her people had forgotten to place one.”

What people are remembering is actually a social media quote from Kim herself all the way back in 2014 at the time of the viral moment.

She wrote on Twitter (Now X): “Heard on the radio today some story I forgot my daughter at our hotel as I'm leaving for the airport. Are you kidding me?!?!?! LOL.

“I went to the car to make sure the car seat was in because the day before we had a car seat issue.

“Do u guys really think a 1year old would be inside the lobby by herself! Oh wait she was waiting to check out lol.”
