Guys, it's finally happening - Stranger Things season five is here - and it's been revealed that Millie Bobby Brown had questions about the fashion choices for her character Eleven in the latest instalment.
The American sci-fi TV show created by Matt and Ross Duffer first premiered on Netflix in July 2016 and has since become one of the streaming platform's most-watched shows, having built up a dedicated fanbase over the years.
Season four came out all the way back in May and June 2022 so fans have been waiting for a long time to get their latest fix and find out what happens to their favourite characters.
It's also going to be the last series of the show, which is emotional for fans who've basically grown up with the cast, including Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughin, Gaten Matarazzo and Sadie Sink.

And a PSA - if you haven't watched it yet, don't worry, this article is completely spoiler free.

In the trailer for the 80s show, we see Eleven wearing a cropped sweatshirt paired with shorts over joggers - and the Stranger Things costume designer said she knew this would cause a reaction.
Amy Parris, who designed the costumes for the fan-favourite TV show for the final three seasons, spoke to the New York Post about the decision.

The Netflix show has had some fun with outfits over the years, considering it's set in the 80s, we've had a whole slew of denim, bright colours, giant hair and mullets.
And Eleven's look in question is about as 1980s as fashion can get.
Parris told the publication: "It’s funny, because I’ve been starting to get comments from people that are like, ‘Shorts over sweats?’ And I’m like, it was absolutely a thing in the ‘80s! I knew this would be the reaction."
The costume designer said it was 'a very specific ’80s moment' that she knew 'might bring a little reaction'.

She explained that her inspiration was 'a mix of Josh Brolin from The Goonies and then Punky Brewster, with her mish mash of cut up clothes that she just kind of grabbed as she went,'.
For those who don't know, Punky Brewster is 1984 American sitcom starring Soleil Moon Frye.
Parris also made sure to do her research and look through 'actual people, not just Josh Brolin' from 80s yearbooks.

She went on to reveal that Brown, 21, wasn't quite sure when she first caught of glimpse of what she'd be wearing.
Parris said: “She saw the concept art originally, which I showed to [series creators] the Duffer brothers. And once we settled on an idea, we emailed it to her. I found out later that she had side-emailed them, like, ‘are you sure about this?’”
She also revealed that when the actress came for a fitting she made a joke about it being unflattering and said she's 'so glad she's married',
If you're out of the loop, Brown tied the knot with Jon Bon Jovi’s son, Jake, 23, last year and in August the couple announced that they had adopted a baby girl together.

Parris said her comments were 'funny' and eventually 'she got into it'.
The costume pro added: "You know, once she saw how cute it looked on her. And it’s definitely a fashion risk for the time. She got into it, I think, once she realised how comfortable it was, and how easy it was to put on.
"Millie Bobby Brown is kind of an entity in herself.
“[They told me] to keep the audience from thinking about her as a celebrity. We want to remember that she is this character. So, we always pull back from keeping her a little bit too cool."
