Sterling Point cast's real ages compared to their characters' ages might surprise you
Sterling Point may be all about teenage love affairs, family secrets and one very dramatic summer, but there's one detail about the cast that fans might find even more surprising than the show's seemingly never-ending plot twists.
If you've already rattled your way through the Prime Video hit since the first season landed last week, you'll know the young-adult drama has pretty much everything you could want from a summer series.
There's a mysterious inheritance, a gorgeous Canadian island, a complicated family web of lies, secret siblings, first loves and enough revelations to keep you clicking 'next episode' again and again.
For those unfamiliar with the show's premise, the eight-part banger follows 17-year-old Annie Jacobson, whose life changes when her estranged grandfather leaves her and her twin brother, Connor, a remote island.

When Annie arrives, she uncovers long-buried family secrets, including a mysterious connection to Ramona, a girl she never knew existed.
Alongside the twists surrounding her family, Annie navigates being in love for the very first time, friendship and a complicated romantic triangle with Rory and Ellis, while Ramona and Oona begin a relationship of their own.
And while the characters are supposed to be navigating their final years of adolescence, some of the actors playing them are quite a few years older than their on-screen counterparts.
Yep, we're talking teenagers being played by actors in their twenties.
Ella Rubin plays Annie Jacobson
The face at the centre of the show is actress Ella Rubin, who plays high-achieving 17-year-old, Annie Jacobson.
Annie starts the series as someone who seems to have her future mapped out. She's ambitious, academically focused and desperate to secure her place in the world she's planned for herself - until the mysterious inheritance sends her life in a completely different direction. Spooky, I know.
Rubin, meanwhile, is 24 in real life. Born in New York in 2001, she's already built up an impressive list of credits, including Anora, The Girl from Plainville, The Chair, Gossip Girl and Fear Street: Prom Queen.
Amélie Hoeferle plays Ramona
Amélie Hoeferle plays Ramona, whose arrival changes pretty much everything for Annie and Connor.
Ramona, whose age we can't be sure of, is initially the mysterious girl at the centre of Annie's discoveries, but her relationship with the Jacobson family becomes far more complicated as the season progresses.
Away from Sterling Point, Hoeferle is perhaps best known for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Night Swim and Eddington.
She was born in Germany on 5 June 2002, making her 24 in 2026.
So once again, the actor playing a teenager is actually well into her twenties.
Keen Ruffalo plays Connor Jacobson
This might be the biggest 'wait, what?' moment for viewers.
Keen Ruffalo plays Connor, Annie's twin brother, also 17. Connor is noticeably more laid-back than his sister and approaches their unexpected summer adventure rather differently.
But beneath the jokes and carefree attitude, Connor has his own huge questions about where he came from. By the end of season one, he's secretly searching for information about his biological parents.
In real life, Ruffalo is 25. And yes, if the surname sounds familiar, there's a reason: Keen is the son of Oscar-nominated actor Mark Ruffalo.
Sterling Point marks his first major onscreen role, following smaller appearances in projects including Begin Again and Thor: Ragnarok.
That puts him roughly eight years older than Connor, despite playing Annie's 17-year-old twin.
Bo Bragason plays Oona
Bo Bragason plays Oona, one of the younger members of the Sterling Point ensemble - though, again, we can't be sure of her fictional age.
Oona is independent, outspoken and has plenty going on beneath the surface. Her relationship with Ramona becomes one of the show's most important romantic storylines, with the pair developing a friends-to-lovers dynamic.
Bragason, who was born in England and was raised between Luxembourg and France, has already appeared in projects including Renegade Nell, The Jetty and The Radleys.
She's 22 in real life, making her another cast member playing considerably younger than her actual age.
Daniel Quinn-Toye plays Rory
Daniel Quinn-Toye plays Rory, another teenager who becomes part of Annie's complicated romantic storyline.
The Scottish actor made his professional theatre debut as Paris in Romeo & Juliet for Jamie Lloyd's West End production, where he also understudied Tom Holland's Romeo.
His other screen credits include Badults, Pressure and Sunny Dancer.
Quinn-Toye was born in November 2002 and is 23 - another actor older and hopefully wiser than their on-screen counterpart.
Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie plays Ellis
Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie plays Ellis, one of the teenagers Annie meets during her summer and one half of the show's central romantic tension.
His relationship with Annie develops throughout the season, with their connection becoming increasingly important as Annie tries to work out what, and who, she really wants.
Whiteduck-Lavoie is a Canadian actor known for projects including A Colony, Falcon Lake and Des hommes, la nuit.
For a while now, internet rumours have alleged he is 33 years old.
However, it would appear these are false, and Jacob is actually aged 23, having been born in March 2003.
