Sterling Point fans are finally realising why they recognise actress Ella Rubin
Ella Rubin has shot to fame after starring as Annie Jacobson in Amazon Prime’s latest smash-hit series, Sterling Point - and everyone is convinced they recognise her.
If you’re a fan of Off Campus, Heated Rivalry, or The Summer I Turned Pretty, there’s no doubt that the latest Gen Z TV show will already be on your radar.
It follows high school graduate Annie and her twin brother, Connor (Keen Ruffalo), who randomly discover that they’ve inherited an entire Canadian island.
Annie’s summer ends up full of twists and turns, as dark family secrets come to light, unexpected friendships are formed - and of course, it wouldn’t be a teen drama without a love triangle.

And if you think Annie looks a little familiar, you wouldn’t be the only one, as many viewers have been left astounded by the actress Ella’s likeness to a number of celebrities.
The internet has been going wild with the comparisons, outlining how the 24-year-old looks like Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, and Rachel Weisz, to name just a few.
One Instagram user joked: “Julia and Rachel and Anne had a gorgeous gorgeous girl.”
While a second wrote: “She reminded me of Anne Hathaway through the whole show!! Love her!”
A third agreed: “Definitely. She also gives Emmy Rossum.”
Over on X, a fourth chimed in with: “Ella Rubin being Rachel Weisz and Anne Hathaway love child like.”
Despite Sterling Point being her big break, Ella has already appeared in a number of movies and TV shows you might recognise her from.
She actually played the daughter of one of her so-called lookalikes, Anne Hathaway, in the 2024 movie The Idea of You.
Ella also stepped into the role of Vera in Sean Baker's acclaimed 2024 film Anora, as well as appearing in the Gossip Girl reboot, The Girl from Plainville, and the horror film Until Dawn.
Meanwhile, her Sterling Point on-screen brother Connor is actually related to a huge celebrity and has a very famous father.
The actor who plays Annie’s twin brother is Keen Ruffalo, 25, who Marvel fans might recognise as none other than Mark Ruffalo’s son, AKA the Incredible Hulk.
Asked about how he got into acting in an interview with Who What Wear, he explained: "Obviously, I grew up around my dad doing it. Me and my sisters were kept pretty separate from it all, I grew up on a farm, so I didn't really understand what it was until, I guess, probably the Marvel stuff."
When is Sterling Point season 2 coming out?
Fans who have already binged their way through all eight episodes of season one will be eager to know when they can get their next Sterling Point fix.
Fortunately, it has officially been renewed for a second season - though it's not yet clear when it'll hit our screens.
The show's creator Megan Clark said: “It’s been an absolute joy to see the appreciation and love for the show.
“We worked so hard to make the show as authentic as possible and to see audiences respond to that has been thrilling.
“We cannot wait to dive deeper into these characters and deliver the best second season ever.”
Co-showrunners and executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage added: “It’s been incredible to watch audiences fall in love with Sterling Point in the way we did while making it.
“It’s truly a testament to Megan Park, our amazing cast, crew, Amazon and all of our partners, who put so much of themselves into the show.
“We can’t wait to be back in Muskoka and for everyone to see what we have in store for Annie, Ramona and the rest of the crew for Season 2.”
