The School for Good and Evil fans are already calling for sequel to Netflix's current number one movie

"I will literally die if there isn't a second movie"

Warning: This article contains spoilers for The School for Good and Evil

Only a few days after The School for Good and Evil dropped on Netflix - with a cliffhanger ending - fans are now begging for a sequel.

Watch the magical trailer below:

The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Soman Chainani. It follows two besties - Agatha (Sofia Wylie) and Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) - who are taken from their village to the School for Good and Evil, respectively.

Their lives change in a heartbeat as they come to terms with their new powers with the help of the eternally effervescent professor Clarissa Dovey (Kerry Washington) and the sinister and sassy Lady Leonora Lesso while an evil force threatens to throw both schools into turmoil.

After the film's release last week, those who immersed themselves into the film's world of magic have become utterly obsessed and they're demanding for more.

One viewer said that her life depends on a sequel. "Everyone go watch The School for Good and Evil right now. I will literally die if there isn't a second movie."

You heard them, Netflix! The demand for another movie didn't end there, however, as another viewer shared their own critique of the film.

"Surprisingly surpassed my expectations," they began. "Spectacular CGI, brilliant casts, beautiful costumes. not your typical fairy tail story in a very good way.

"I can’t wait for the sequel."

A third Twitter user simply said: "The School for Good and Evil was actually a good movie. [I] hope they make a sequel."

While someone else said: "Netflix I need y’all to start production on the school for good and evil sequel ASAP #TheSchoolForGoodAndEvil."

And another viewer wrote: "The School for Good and Evil is so gooooood can't wait for the sequel."

As viewers already know, the film ends with Agatha kissing Tedros (Jamie Flatters) before choosing to join her BFF in crossing over to their normal world to go back to their old lives. Moments before the end credits, an arrow pierces the veil between worlds, followed by a mysterious knife. The Storian then states that 'this is only the beginning.'

Soman wrote a follow-up book, A World Without Princes, published in 2014, which could serve as the inspiration for a possible second film.

The film has been a hit with Netflix viewers.

Director Paul Feig teased what he would want to see in the potential sequel in an interview with Tyla. “I love Sophie and Agatha and I wanna see their relationship and where that goes when they go back to Gavaldon," he gushed.

“Gavaldon is not a great place and so even though they’re back home at the end of the movie, I can’t imagine that they’re gonna remain happy there very long and so I’m curious to see how they get back to the school and how things change there I’d love to follow that because I love this world we set up and I love all the characters in it.”

The School for Good and Evil is available to watch on Netflix now.
