Wicked fans have been left shocked after the movie got completely 'snubbed' during this year's Oscars nominations.
The star-studded annual awards ceremony, which is taking place on 15 March and will be hosted by US comedian Conan O'Brien, honours Hollywood's finest stars and movies from the past 12 months.
The highly-anticipated nominations list is always a huge talking point, and this year it's no different, as movie fans from around the world have flocked to social media to share their thoughts.
Leading the way is Sinners, starring Michael B Jordan as twins, which scored a record 16 nominations, beating the record of 14 nominations shared by All About Eve, Titanic and La La Land.

Meanwhile, Irish actress Jessie Buckley secured a nomination in the best actress category for her emotional performance in Hamnet, and Timothee Chalamet is up for the best actor gong his role in Marty Supreme.
But one movie that was noticeably absent from every Oscars category was Wicked: For Good, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

The Wizard of Oz spin-off and second movie in the Wicked franchise didn't receive a single Academy Award nomination, nor did its stars.
This was especially surprising since the first film earned 10 nominations back in 2025 - the film won two for Best Costume Design for Paul Tazewell and Best Production Design for Lee Sandeles and Nathan Crowley.
Mikey Madison won the Oscar for Best Actress over Erivo for her performance in Anora, while Zoe Saldaña bagged Best Supporting Actress over Grande for Emilia Pérez.
But this year, the leading ladies aren't even in the running.
Instead, the best actress category is made up of Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I'd Kick You), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value) and Emma Stone (Bugonia).
Those nominated for best supporting actress are Elle Fanning (Sentimental Value), Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas (Sentimental Value), Amy Madigan (Weapons), Wunmi Mosaku (Sinners) and Teyana Taylor (One Battle After Another).

Taking to social media to react to the news that Ariana specifically didn't get nominated, Wicked fans penned on X: "Oof… that’s a tough snub" and "That's messed up."
A second agreed "Extremely weird and unfair."
While a third pointed out: "From a nomination last year to nothing this time… awards season is brutal."

"That’s crazy. I feel like she deserved a nomination for the second film more so than the first film," mused someone else.
Meanwhile, others had frustrations less centred around Ariana's 'snub,' but instead the movie as a whole.
"This is insane! Wasn’t sure about Ariana, but the song, costumes and production design not getting in is shocking," one person wrote.
While another fan agreed: "Wicked For Good being snubbed in every category... wtf is happening #Oscar."
