He mightn't have been nominated for any awards of his own at this year's Oscars, but Jeff Goldblum seemingly managed to steal the show in his own, totally bizarre way.

Mid-way through this year's star-studded Academy Awards, the 72-year-old was photographed by attending members of the press getting up to mayhem whilst scrolling on his phone.

And let's just say, you will not believe what he was doing.

I mean, the move is being considered 'classic Jeff Goldblum' - so you already know it's going to be sheer chaos.

Despite having been in showbiz for decades, the widely-adored actor and musician is known more recently for his role alongside Cynthia Eviro and Ariana Grande as 'The Wizard' in Wicked.

The magical musical takes place years before the events of the 1939 classic, The Wizard of Oz, and shows how 'The Wizard' and the 'Wicked Witch of the West' first became acquainted, when she was known as university student 'Elphaba'.

The movie adaptation of the Broadway hit received a plethora of nominations at this year's Oscars - including for Costume Design, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Film Editing, Music and Makeup.

And whilst Goldblum himself wasn't named for any accolades, he attended tonight's festivities (2 Mar) to support his co-stars.

As anyone with successful friends knows, however - sometimes simply being there for your big-name buddy can be a little boring.

And apparently, no one knows that more than Goldblum, who was seen scrolling through his mobile phone mid-way through the show.

As we say, however, fans of the Hollywood veteran have been left totally blindsided by what Goldblum was getting up to on his phone after high-tech cameras were able to zoom it.

It turns out, Goldblum was doing a bit of light Instagram stalking... of himself.

That's right, the movie star was seen scrolling through his own tagged photographs.

Poking fun at him on X (formerly Twitter), one gushed: "Self-love at its finest.

"Jeff Goldblum appreciating Jeff Goldblum is the energy we all need."

Another jibed: "Classic Jeff Goldblum! If you can’t admire yourself, who will?

"Life, uh, finds a way… to appreciate good angles!"

A third also penned: "Jeff Goldblum acts like in another timeline he is a bus driver who woke up in this timeline as Jeff Goldblum.

"He is never not happy to be Jeff Goldblum. And he’s always exactly 100% Jeff Goldblum being Jeff Goldblum."

"Jeff Goldblum checking his own photos is literally the most Jeff Goldblum thing ever," added another.

It's giving 'icon'.
