Viewers slam ‘disgusting’ new Married at First Sight season as it hits Aussies' screens

The brand-new season dropped Down Under yesterday

There's a brand-new season of Married at First Sight which has sparked quite the heated reaction after first hitting Aussies' screens down under last night (29 January).

The first episode had viewers feeling pretty shocked after watching one best man leave the wedding party mortified with his pretty explicit 'train wreck' of a wedding speech.

Tim Calwal's best man, Ben, began his speech by referring to his marriage to Sara Mesa as 'experiment number 865' before delivering more of his 'experiments'.

These range from x-rated jokes about 'road-head- and 'l'ove at first sight through beer goggles' - which Sara's bridesmaid Lauren called 'disgusting'.

So, not off to a good start.

Even with such a shocking start to the season, however, others were beyond buzzing to cosy up for their next MAFS fix as the programme emerged as the victor of Monday night's ratings battle.

"MAFS Australia oh how I’ve missed you!! So excited to start the new season," penned one X (formerly Twitter) user.

"Happy Married at First Sight Australia day to all those who celebrate," joked a second, while a third chimed in: "Married at First Sight Australia is looking WILD this season. I'm bamboozled just watching the intro!"

Another echoed: "My favourite show comes back tonight!!!!!!!! Married at First Sight Australia!"

"Married at First Sight Australia season 11 let’s gooooo!" added a final Twitter user.

But critics of the reality dating show have also rushed to social media to share their issues with MAFS Australia.

One Facebook user hit out: "I don't want to see any of it, hence I don't watch it. "Can't wait for the day this show is canned!"

A second claimed they 'turned it off after 30 minutes', while a third branded it a 'disgusting show'.

A fourth wrote: "Thank god for Netflix!!!"

Tyla has reached out to Channel Nine for comment.

Series 11 kicked off on Monday on the Australian streaming service 9Now, but Brits will have to wait a little longer to catch up on all the drama as it is currently only available to watch for those Down Under.

Viewers called the new MAFS Australia season 'disgusting'.

Until it lands on E4, fans of the show will have to do their best at dodging spoilers across social media as the brand-new group of hopeful brides and grooms join the fascinating social experiment under the watchful eye of relationship experts; John Aiken and Mel Schilling, and sexologist Alessandra Rampolla.

So far, four couples have been announced: Cassandra and Tristan, Lucinda and Timothy, Sara and Tim as well as Tori and Jack.

Other season 11 brides include the likes of Andrea, Eden, Ellie, Lauren and Natalie while the grooms have been confirmed as Ben, Collins, Jayden, Jonathan, Michael, Richard and Simon.
