Love on the Spectrum star Abbey Romeo has updated fans following her split from David Isaacman.
The former couple met on the show, which features autistic adults as they search for love.
Sadly it wasn't to be for the lovebirds, with Abbey's mum sharing an update on YouTube which explained the reasoning behind the shock split from the hit show.
Christine Romeo said: “There was no fight over engagements and rings being thrown around, I think people are missing the point on Abbey and David.”

“David was happy in his way of doing life, and Abbey’s was different. And they found that out over this period of time,” she explained, as fans mourned the end of their five year relationship.
“I’m grateful for the time they had. It was a fabulous relationship, for anybody, a five-year relationship is a successful relationship. You learn so much, you grow so much."

Now Abbey herself has spoken following the break up, according to People.
Speaking on the Tea Time with Raven and Miranda podcast, Abbey revealed: “David and I decided to call each other ‘best friends,’ not boyfriend and girlfriend anymore."
The hosts asked her how it felt to be a 'single woman' now.
"Being a single lady, like what Beyoncè says, it feels amazing,” the reality star replied. “I’ve grown and changed a lot over the past four and a half years.”
She gave her ex credit though: “I wouldn’t be where I am today. He was a good start.”
Christine then asked her to say something 'funny' she always said about Isaacman, with Abbey saying at least he 'wasn’t cheating and lying' like her brother’s ex.
They met on the first season of the hugely popular show, and went on their first date at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

In the latest season, fans saw Abbey saying “I don’t want to be a divorced lady like my mom, so that’s why I don’t want to rush it, take my time to get married."
She had said the couple weren't in any rush and already felt like they were married.
Viewers found out about the split when the couple shared a statement: "Abbey and David spent four and a half years together and truly value the time they shared and each other," it began,
"At this point, they want different things and have decided to go their separate ways, but they remain friends, wishing each other the best."
Christine also added: “Please don’t judge autistic relationships as if they were typical. So many people on the spectrum are not going to do what typical people do.”
She also praised her daughter's ex: “Abbey has grown a ton, none of the growth would have happened without David.
“That’s what relationships are, they help us grow and change.”
