Reality TV personality Nathan Gallagher was arrested in Australia last year after an assault allegation was filed against him.
The Irish star, famed for his role on Below Deck Mediterranean, was apprehended by Ryde Police Area Command officers two days after Christmas on 27 December, 2025.
According to a statement given to PEOPLE by New South Wales Police, Gallagher, 27, was subsequently transferred to a secure unit on Appleforth Street in Melrose Park following his arrest.

He was charged with 'assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally chok[ing a] person without consent, and common assault', as per the NSW police memorandum.

Police have made it clear that the alleged victim who filed the complaint - an unnamed woman, 29 - did not suffer any serious injuries as a result of the incident that occurred at a Sydney-area apartment complex.
Gallagher, whose plea to the charges hasn't yet been confirmed, was eventually granted conditional bail following an initial refusal.
He appeared at Burwood Local Court the following month, ahead of a hearing set at the same location for 1 September.
While the woman's identity was kept anonymous in the police memo, a court case that corresponds with the timeline of the alleged attack names Gallagher as the subject of an Apprehended Violence Application filed on behalf of his Below Deck co-star Gael Cameron.

The allegations have come to light while the 11th series of the hit franchise, filmed in Croatia last summer, airs on Bravo.
It focuses on Gallagher attempting to manage his bosun duties and his obligations as the father of a newborn baby, while Cameron's storyline hinges on being a first-time mother, based on land in Dubrovnik.
The couple met while filming the ninth series of Below Deck, with their relationship continuing once the season wrapped. They briefly split in the months that followed before rekindling in September 2024.
He and Cameron welcomed their son, Kayden Cameron-Gallagher, in June 2025.

Three days before the charges made international headlines, Gallagher shared a video to his story, vowing to 'unfollow everyone' that he currently follows on social media.
"Okay, so, I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I'm going to unfollow everyone that I currently follow on Instagram," he said. "This is not personal; it's not because I don't like you.
"It's simply down to the fact that I feel myself getting sucked into the false reality of social media.
"You wake up, you scroll, you start comparing your life subconsciously, you start comparing your life to other people's - travelling, if they're going out to eat, everything. You start doing it subconsciously, and I don't feel like it is a benefit to me at this given moment in time."

Gallagher continued: "So, I am going to use it differently and clean that out. I want to put my time into things that I care about. So, if you're someone that cares about me or wants to stay in contact, reach out.
"I will send you my number and we can stay in touch that way, but yeah."
The on-screen star concluded: "This is my uncomfortable choice to a positive change and this is a way that I'm going to go about, simplifying my mindset and just getting better."
Tyla contacted Gallagher's representatives for comment.
