Kim Kardashian and Ray J's tape was released on purpose, documentary claims

A new documentary, The House of Kardashian, has claimed that Kim and Ray J’s sex tape leak was intentional.

A new documentary, The House of Kardashian, has claimed that Kim and Ray J’s sex tape leak was intentional.

The brand new documentary, coming to Sky on October 8, has alleged that the sex tape leak was to propel both of their careers and the Kardashians into the spotlight.

The series will feature never-before seen footage and interviews from the family themselves, including Caitlyn Jenner’s thoughts.

It contains three episodes which will all be released at the same time for everyone's viewing pleasure, and it’s set to cause some shockwaves.

Even those who aren't familiar with The Kardashians will know about the infamous sex tape between Kim and her then-boyfriend, musician Ray J.

And the sex tape resurfaced in the newest Hulu series, The Kardashians, when Kim and Kanye West's son, Saint West, almost discovered 'unreleased footage' while on Roblox.

However, Ray J’s manager, David Weintraub, has claimed that the tape was a 'means to an end'.

He said: “Ray and Kim filmed a lot of stuff... Ray Jay and Kim decided that they wanted to distribute the sex tape to market both of their careers.

"At that moment Kim told her mother, her most trusted confidante - ‘We may do this thing, and it might be nuts, but hey, maybe this can be utilised at our discretion to actually be a tool that can catapult not only me, our family [but also] this business to the next level.'

He went on to claim that he believed that Kris Jenner knew that if the tape was released ‘properly’ and marketed correctly, it would propel the Kardashians into the spotlight.

Adding: “I believe that Kris thought that at that time the best narrative to market this sex tape was for everybody to believe that it was leaked.”

Caitlyn Jenner said that she had ‘no idea’ about the sex tape being leaked on purpose.

She commented: “I never ever once had that conversation – or did I wanna have that conversation.

Ray J's manager claims that there were three tapes that Kim and the musician had filmed.

“But to be honest I just stayed out of it.

"Kris never talked to me about it, I never talked to Kimberly about it, I don’t know what happened, why it happened.”

Tyla has reached out to representatives for Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner for comment.

The documentary also revealed that Kris only got $4,000 in child support for her four kids after divorcing her first husband, Robert Kardashian.

The documentary will be available to watch on October 8, on Sky Documentaries and NOW.
