Netflix has just released its latest horror series and it's safe to say that fans looking for a more heart-racing watch will be quick to rattle through all eight episodes.

The show, which is executive produced by the Duffer Brothers, boasts a star-studded cast featuring Camila Morrone (Daisy Jones & The Six, The Night Manager), Adam DiMarco (The White Lotus, Overcompensating) and Jennifer Jason Leigh (Fargo, Annihilation) amongst several other familiar faces.

Spanning a week, the series, aptly titled Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, follows Rachel (Morrone) and Nicky (DiMarco) in the lead-up to their wedding.

However, as the lovebirds gear up to say 'I do,' they're forced to face their own nerve-wracking questions about commitment, all while grappling with a 'deliciously fresh horror twist' as they become haunted by the growing certainty that disaster is looming.

Creator Haley Z. Boston explained to Tudum that, instead of relying on jump scares, the psychological horror leans into 'unsettling, getting-under-your-skin dread'.

However, despite only landing on Netflix today (26 March), it didn't take long for viewers to pick up on a major mistake in the very first episode. You've been warned, the following contains spoilers for Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen.

Check out the official trailer here:

In the run-up to the big day, Rachel starts to voice a growing sense of 'dread' which is understandable considering that, in the opening episode, she jams her car keys into the hand of a creepy man at a bar after catching him watching her in the toilet.

But it’s later in that same episode, once she’s told Nicky what happened, that the plot hole shows itself.

Being a dutiful fiancé, Nicky comforts Rachel and they start kissing on the bed.

However, she quickly pulls back and apologises, prompting Nicky to asks what’s wrong.

She hesitates, before cryptically saying: "I have to do the thing."

The scene then cuts to Nicky shutting a box at the foot of the bed which Rachel is inside, with viewers able to hear her breathing heavily.

Then, it jumps to the pair having sex, with no context for the box at all.

Oddly enough, the box never appears again, nor is it mentioned for the rest of Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen which leaves the whole moment hanging with viewers left wondering why it was there in the first place.

Sharing their thoughts on the plot hole, one X user hit out: "Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen. Yeaaah um I’m finishing second ep and for now, this kinda sucks."

"Watching Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen and this first episode is all over the place lol," agreed a second, adding: "Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen has some of the worst storytelling I’ve ever seen, 2 episodes in I’m not feeling this show at all."

And a third critic penned: "Just watched the first episode of Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, and wtf????"

But that's not to say that everyone feels the same.

"A horror show about a wedding week? Honestly that already sounds realistic… weddings are stressful enough before the horror even starts!" beamed one prospective fan.

A second penned: "'What if the worst day of your life was your wedding week' is such a perfect horror hook."

"My interest is piqued!" confessed a third as a fourth chimed in: "I’m kinda excited for this!"

Another echoed: "Looks interesting..... SEATED!"

And a final X user added: "I started watching this Netflix’s limited series, SOMETHING VERY BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN—and now I’m completely hooked."

Tyla has reached out to Netflix for comment.

Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen is currently available to stream on Netflix.
