Netflix has been slammed for cancelling one of its most-watched shows on the streamer.
The hit drama series in question, The Lincoln Lawyer, first hit our screens in 2022 and has since treated Netflix viewers to four cracking seasons, with production for the fifth and final season officially kicking off in March.
The show follows idealistic lawyer Mickey Haller, played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, who runs his practise out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car, taking on cases big and small across Los Angeles.
It was announced last month that the series would be coming to an end after season five, despite increased viewership from season one to season two.
Netflix has cancelled its hit drama series, The Lincoln Lawyer (Netflix) "All good things must come to an end, but thankfully sometimes how they come to an end is up to us," said creator, co-showrunner, and executive producer Ted Humphrey and co-showrunner and executive producer Dailyn Rodriguez.
"From the very beginning, the mission was always not only to tell the story of Mickey Haller and his compatriots, but also to give that story a proper conclusion. And while it is, of course, bittersweet, it’s also an amazing opportunity to bring this adventure to a close and perhaps chart a new course for some of our characters into the future."

But most of all, we are grateful to the fans all around the world for watching and supporting the show. We promise you, we are right now building a final season that will provide the satisfying finale Mickey Haller deserves.
"We can’t wait to share it with you!"
The Lincoln Lawyer appeared on the Netflix Global Top 10 charts for 29 weeks across its four seasons and has impressively racked up a staggering 171 million views since 2023, according to Deadline.
Its most recent season launched with a whopping nine million views for its opening weekend, a decent increase in viewership from the previous season's debut performance of seven million.

Reacting to the news, one X user penned: "It’s wild. The show has strong viewership, great source material from the books, and a lead with insane screen presence."
"Forcing The Lincoln Lawyer to wrap up after season 5 when Mickey Haller has enough charisma to carry the platform for a decade is actual madness."
"Really hope Netflix reconsiders. This cast and story are perfect. Mickey Haller deserves to keep going!" gushed another as a final X user chimed in: "Madness is the right word. Let Mickey cook for 10 seasons minimum!"
