We've been treated to a whole load of cracking telly this year and we're just a month into 2024.

From Harlan Coben's binge-worthy Fool Me Once to a brand-new crime thriller that follows the story of the 'real-life Gone Girl' - there's been banger after banger on Netflix and it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

This 'amazing' thriller reached the 'No.5 in TV Programmes Today' after dropping on the streaming platform and, from what viewers online are saying about it, it's no surprise.

Check out the official trailer here:

The official Netflix premise reads: "A student's illicit affair with her married professor takes a sinister turn when a shocking death makes her question their love - and her sanity."

The 'binge-worthy' thriller stars the likes of Normal People heartthrob, Paul Mescal, Hollyoaks 'bad-boy' veteran Emmett J. Scanlan, and Belgravia star Emily Reid.

The Deceived, brought to us by the Irish genius behind Derry Girls Lisa McGee, shines a unnerving night onto gaslighting behaviour while simultaneously honouring pinnacles of gothic classics.

While it actually first graced our screens some years back on Channel 5 in 2020, it's clear the suspenseful crime drama has only aged like fine wine with viewers so locked in, they've been left unable to sleep easy at night.

Many have rushed to social media to share their praise for the series with one X, formerly Twitter, user writing: "Just binged The Deceived on Netflix. Omg amazing!"

Viewers have been raving about The Deceived.

"Just finished watching The Deceived on Netflix, was really good," gushed another, while a third recommended: "For anyone looking for something to watch, The Deceived on Netflix is a great watch!"

A fourth chimed in: "Watching The Deceived on Netflix... mainly because it has Emmett J. Scanlan as a sexy professor who has an affair. DING DONG."

Facebook users also couldn't wait to sing the series' praises, with one revealing: "Just binge watched. Its really good."

A second went on: "If anyone needs something to watch The Deceived on Netflix is unbelievable."

"Omg if you have not watched The Deceived on Netflix, go watch!" someone else recommended.

A fourth continued: "The Deceived on Netflix (originally Ch5) has given me really weird dreams each night after watching it. It’s a quite good supernatural/psychological thriller, only four parts so very bingeable."

Well, I know what I'll be watching this weekend.

The Deceived is currently available to stream on Netflix.
