Netflix has come through for sofa critics all over once again with yet another series perfect for binge-watching in a single night dropping on the platform earlier this month.

Viewers are 'hooked' on the heartbreaking thriller, which has already climbed to the top of the board after ranking in as 'No. 1 in TV Programmes Today' in the UK and currently sitting at #2 in Ireland.

And fans have since rushed in to share their praise over the gripping four-part miniseries.

The series stars David Tennant.

Perfect to binge-watch in just a single sitting, the dark crime thriller boasts a star-studded cast including the likes of David Tennant, Cush Jumbo, Matthew McNulty and Anna Madeley.

The plot follows the events that unfurl after a 'seemingly perfect' family is murdered in a horrific house fire by someone they know thrusting the small close-knit Scottish community they call home to become 'riven with mistrust and suspicion'.

Check out the official trailer for Deadwater Fell here:

The Doctor Who icon stars as another doctor - but not that one - Tom Kendrick, who lies at the very centre of the harrowing murder mystery alongside friends Jess, played by Jumbo who starred in Harlan Coben's Stay Close, as well as Steve, portrayed by McNulty (The Terror).

And if that juicy little synopsis isn't enough to get you going - you'll be happy to know Deadwater Fell has also been rated a decent 88 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Consider me gripped.

And it's clear I'm not the only one as fans have since taken to Facebook's Netflix Bangers to share their excitement over the series, which first aired on Channel 4 back in 2020.

One viewer penned: "Just watched Deadwater Fell. David Tennant is one of the best actors of his time. You can tell he puts his all into getting to know his character!"

A second warned: "It’s pretty sad but definitely worth the watch!"

"I'm hooked," admitted a third while a fourth chimed in: "Hell yeah and David Tennant is brilliant!"

A fifth quipped: "I watched this first time round on Channel 4, such a good watch and David Tennant is brilliant whatever part he plays!"

"I really enjoyed it too but very sad," echoed a final Facebook user.

The executive producer of the series, Emma Kingsman-Lloyd, revealed in 2020 that she and writer, Daisy Coulam, took a lot of inspo from true crime series while creating and developing the show.

"We’re both a little bit obsessed with true crime shows which is where the initial thought came from, because Daisy said that she wanted to write something that had the forensic detail of a true crime documentary show," Kingsman-Lloyd explained.

All four episodes of Deadwater Fell are currently available to stream on both Netflix and Channel 4.
