Model makes bizarre Kate Middleton comment after her Labubus at Wimbledon got people talking

Indian actress and model Urvashi Rautela turned up to Wimbledon with four Labubus on her Birkin bag

We never thought we’d see the day where Labubus, Kate Middleton and Wimbledon are all in the same sentence, but here we are.

A model has made a comment about the Princess Wales that’s left fans confused during her day out at the annual tennis tournament - and there’s a lot to unpack here.

Indian actress and model Urvashi Rautela, 31, certainly turned heads as she turned up to Wimbledon for the women's singles final on Saturday (12 July) with not one, not two, but four Labubus swinging from her handbag.

She looked very glam for the occasion, dressed up in a lacy white ballgown as she watched on from her seat.

But, despite her stunning appearance, the one thing everyone couldn’t draw their eyes away from were the dolls - she had one in purple, blue, pink, and green all attached to her brown leather Birkin handbag.

For those not familiar with the Labubu craze, the furry collectibles are monster-like dolls that have taken the internet by storm.

And while they’re now a very popular accessory among celebrities, we don’t think anyone expected to see one at Wimbledon.

Urvashi posted a series of snaps to her 71.3 million Instagram followers from her day at the tournament, featuring her four additional guests.

She also shared videos of Kate presenting the trophy to Iga Swiatek after she won the women’s singles final after a tense match against Amanda Anisimova.

The Princess of Wales has served as the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016.

This means the royal gets the honour of presenting the winners and runners-up with their trophies during the Championship weekend.

But, it was the model's caption that left people baffled, as she claimed to have met the Princess of Wales, which would be usual for a spectator - unless you’re in the Royal Box of course.

Urvashi wrote: “PRINCESS OF WALES #KATEMIDDLETON TRULY AN HONOR TO MEET YOU meeting thee is a joy divine. WIMBLEDON 2025 FINALS!”

The caption was posted twice, accompanied by a series of videos and photos, heavily featuring the Labubus.

There was a lot going on and it’s safe to say people on social media were a little bit confused, taking to the comments to share their thoughts.

One user joked: “First woman to meet Kate Middleton without meeting Kate Middleton.”

Meanwhile, a second added: “Putting Labubus on birkin should be a real crime.”

Others chimed in with: “Labubus on Birkin in Wimbledon, only Urvashi can do it!” and “Wimbledon is going to be next red carpet show rather than actual tennis.”

Another jested: “Confidence of writing such courageous caption even without an encounter. Proud of you!!!”

And someone else penned: “Princess of India meets princess of wales!!”
