Nicola Coughlan goes completely nude in Bridgerton’s steamiest sex scene ever

The second half of Bridgerton season 3 has finally dropped and we've been given all we were promised... and then some.

Netflix's Regency-era romance left us on a cliffhanger as the first half of the latest season came to a close - and we had to wait almost a month for the remaining four episodes which truly felt like a lifetime.

Fear no longer reader, as patience is a virtue and we've been treated to the final episodes of Bridgerton's third season.

In case your memory needs jogging - the first half wrapped up with a very steamy carriage scene between leads Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), who gave in to their passions for one another at long last and got extremely hot and heavy.

Our hearts were fit to burst when Colin said: "Are you going to marry me or not?"

Viewers are painfully aware that Penelope has been in love with Colin since the very start - so we all knew she was going to say yes in the new episodes.

Those of us deeply entrenched in the chemistry between the two leads both on and off the screen will know that we have been teased about even more forthcoming raunch in the 'Ton.

Nicola told Stylist that she got 'very naked' for Bridgerton's third season.

She said: "I specifically asked for certain lines and moments to be included. There’s one scene where I’m very naked on camera, and that was my idea, my choice.

"It just felt like the biggest ‘f**k you’ to all the conversation surrounding my body; it was amazingly empowering.

"I felt beautiful in the moment, and I thought: 'When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how f**king hot I looked!'"

And we can concur that she looks amazing indeed - as in the new season, she gets completely naked in her first sex scene with Colin and completely glows on screen.

You can tell she feels seriously empowered in that moment.

No doubt that was aided by Nicola and Luke's amazing bond.

It previously emerged that Penelope and Colin get so caught up in their need for one another that actors Nicola and Luke actually broke a piece of furniture while filming - so we always knew there was full steam ahead, if you catch my drift.

And now that the insatiable Bridgerton fans among us have devoured the new episodes, we can confirm we have been well and truly fed.

The first episode of the second half follows a six-minute scene that will surely end up in the sex scene hall of fame.

Luke, the love of Penelope's life, takes her virginity and checks in on her throughout, making sure she's comfortable and enjoying it.

It's safe to say she does as she quips: "Can we do it again?" straight after the deed is done.

There's much more to look forward to in that department - but you'll have to watch it to find out.
