The singer took to Instagram to announce her tenth studio album and has since released the title track.
Miley Cyrus first revealed she was working on new music in a post to social media on 31 August, sharing a mysterious red and black image, showing a close-up of her eye.
And in a post shared on 2 September, Cyrus wrote: "My tenth studio album, BASS PERSUADES, is yours September 18th. Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong.
Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me.

"Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album. Miley."
She's since shared the title track off her upcoming tenth album, posting the music video for the single online, showing her dancing in a street with a squad of dancers behind her. And it's not taken long for fans to react.
One Instagram user wrote: "Don’t mean to sound dramatic, but this song has already changed my life."
"MJ and Britney coded," another added.
It follows eagle-eyed fans realising she'd also changed her website, redirecting people from her normal site to a new domain which saw an apparent name change in how she would be referring to herself from now on as a musician.
Instead of mileycyrus.com, her new domain reads mileyofficial.com, with the name 'MILEY' in capitals once you click through - dropping her surname.
However, not everyone has been convinced by Cyrus' change of name.

One Instagram user wrote: Just Miley … because she’s that iconic."
A second added: “MILEY IS COMING”.
A third questioned: “New era???”
And an X user noted: “Miley dropping her last name professionally would make so much sense bc she’s literally the only Miley so it’s not like she needs the distinction.”
Although, another questioned: “Idk how i feel about miley leaving the cyrus behind."

A sixth wrote: “I don't approve, it's MILEY CYRUS!! Miley, without Cyrus, is incomplete.”
It follows as Billy Ray Cyrus - Miley's dad - shared his reaction to her music name change.
Billy Ray took to Instagram on 2 September too, sharing a throwback image of Miley and her brother, Braison, both of who he shares with ex-wife Tish Cyrus.
The caption reads: "Family means more than ever now. I always called my little girl Miley. Just … Miley. Just like I always called my little boy Braison."

"Bet you didn’t know … I was just CYRUS before 'Achy Breaky Heart' came out in 92," he continued. "All of my swag and T-shirts only read. CYRUS SOME GAVE ALL with a picture of a POW MIA flag on it that and the words .. 'You are not forgotten'."
The dad shared his approval of his daughter's music name change, writing: "I told @miley yesterday I felt good about her going with her first name. I mentioned Dolly and Cher.
"Thinkin about it more and more … Elvis .. Prince …and so on.
"It’s a natural progression for an iconic superstar legend. And the legend continues!
"Looking forward to the new album. Now … if only Mercury / Polygram would have just not insisted on the 'Billy Ray' part and just let me be CYRUS…… I could have done something!!! Ha ha !!! All good."
