Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade has revealed how she ‘audibly sobbed’ while listening to ‘devastating’ tracks dedicated to her on her father’s new album.

Earlier this summer, Eminem—real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III—released his 12th studio album, 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)'.

The 19-track LP rocketed to number one in 16 countries and is being praised by fans for its open and raw account of the 51-year-old star’s relationship with his eldest daughter Hailie Jade, 28.

Eminem, who shares Hailie, Aliana Marie, 31, and Stevie, 22, with his ex-wife Kimberly Anne ‘Kim’ Scott, 49, is no stranger to using his children as subjects for his songs.

Hailie herself is famously the inspiration behind ‘Mockingbird’ and ‘Hailie’s Song’ and now 2024’s ‘Somebody Save Me’.

The three-minute 50-second track features lyrics written from the perspective of the 'Lose Yourself' hitmaker dying from his past drug addiction, including: “Hailie, I'm so sorry / I know I wasn't there for your first guitar recital.

”Didn't walk you down the aisle / Missed the birth of your first child / Your first podcast, lookin' down, sweetie / I'm so proud of how you turned out.”

The track is accompanied by a music video, which Hailie claims she ‘refuses’ to watch again.

Speaking about the music video for ‘Somebody Save Me’ on the Just a Little Shady podcast she shares with Brittany Ednie, Hailie began: “Speaking of things I watched this past week, which I guess I'll say watched, but I refused to watch again—the 'Somebody Save Me' music video is out and I did watch the thing."

“I don't think I can do it again,” she confessed. “I definitely cry every time I hear it at all.

“And actually, Brittany put the little commercial snippet on today and I was like, ‘Can you turn that down? Like, are you trying to make me cry?’”

She later said that the video—featuring clips of her and her siblings—was ‘great’ before remarking how ‘fun’ it was to see clips from their childhood.

“It's a great video, and it's fun to see clips of us when we were younger like that, even ‘Mockingbird,’ but I can't even listen to that anymore without crying." Hailie said.

“The older I get, the less I can listen to any of the songs, but it is fun to see those clips — just not in that context.”

Later in the conversation, Hailie claimed she had also ‘audibly sobbed’ whilst listening to another track on the record, entitled ‘Temporary’.

“But I will say, watching the video back and listening to the songs, I feel like my parents did such a good job growing up,” she explained.

“Where I didn't realise how bad things were, but now, as an adult in hindsight, it's so scary to think about.”

The influencer added that was why she got so ‘emotional’ listening to the songs and that if any of her podcast listeners had ever ‘lost a loved one or an addict’ she ‘felt for them’.
