A sweet snap of Zendaya posing with a hefty engagement ring went viral yesterday, immediately sparking confusion as fans clocked that the man beside her was not her boyfriend Tom Holland.
This isn't the first time the A-list couple have inadvertently sent break-up rumours flying, after 29-year-old Zendaya unfollowed her British beau on social media last year.
Holland and Zendaya are believed to have been dating since not long after Spider-Man entered the Marvel universe in 2016, which they starred together.
It took a further five years, however, for the couple to accidentally confirm their romance, after being papped locking lips in a car.

After spotting her unfollowing last January, the headlines became littered with split allegations. Fans were also distraught, with one questioning at the time: "Zendaya broke up with tom? OMG."
Another added: "Zendaya unfollows everyone including Tom holland on Instagram WHAT?!"
Spider-Man actor Holland, 29, went on to tell TMZ he's 'absolutely not' split from the Euphoria star, confirming that the news simply formed part of a digital clear-up.

Despite this, concerns were raised once again this week when she shared a newly-engaged 'announcement' online.
A photograph taken from a page in The Boston Globe spread like wildfire, showing Zendaya smiling in black and white, holding up an almighty engagement ring. Fans noticed, however, that the man whose arms she's sitting in were not that of Holland, but fellow film star Robert Pattinson.
Upon closer inspection, the 'couple' went by the fictional names Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson in the newspaper description below, confirming the 'announcement' was part of their latest professional project.

It turns out that Zendaya and Pattinson, 39, are set to star together in an upcoming A24 film called The Drama, about a couple whose wedding planning descends into chaos.
Despite the actress herself sharing the 'engagement' pic on her own social media profile, it's still understood that she and Holland are very much together.
Appearing on the Dish podcast recently, Holland described Zendaya to hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett as 'the best thing that’s ever happened to me'.
She also praised the Impossible actor right back, calling him 'so talented' and 'so passionate about what he does' during a conversation with Variety recently, claiming she feels 'strangely comfortable' working alongside him, despite them being in a relationship.
