Warning: this article contains discussion of sexual assault which some readers may find distressing.
Their on-screen chemistry might have been fiery at the time, but the Sex and the City actors behind Carrie Bradshaw and Mr Big are far from friendly away from the cameras.
For those in need of a reminder, Sarah Jessica Parker has played high-fashion relationships writer Carrie on the glitzy big-city hit since 1998, when it first graced our television screens. She starred in her much-loved New York girl-gang alongside Kim Cattrall, who played PR mogul Samantha Jones, Kristin Davis as art dealer Charlotte York, and Cynthia Nixon as lawyer Miranda Hobbes.
Noth, meanwhile, played Carrie's often-toxic on-and-off lover John James Preston, a mostly-married entrepreneurial tycoon most commonly known as 'Mr. Big'.

How did Carrie and Big's relationship end?
Between 1998 and 2004, the characters ceaselessly became embroiled in passionate love affairs, before splitting up following a blindsiding bombshell, and getting back together again - much to the constant dismay of Carrie's gal pals.
The Hollywood stars behind these controversial characters appeared to be firm friends when the cameras stopped rolling, often being photographed together on red carpets during breaks between seasons. By the end of the first film, Big finally divorces wife Natasha (played by Bridget Moynahan), and ties the knot with the New York journalist.

Despite this, their marriage proves rather short-lived, with producers brutally killing off Noth's character during the very first episode of the show's long-awaited spin-off, And Just Like That, in 2021.

As such, the series follows Carrie's grief journey, which starts with her arranging Big's funeral.
When did Parker and Noth's 'feud' begin?
It was rumoured that the decision to remove the 71-year-old actor from the script was spurred by two anonymous women claiming that he had sexually assaulted them in separate incidents in 2004 and 2015. Noth has vehemently denied the claims as 'categorically false'.

"These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago - no always means no - that is a line I did not cross," he told PEOPLE at the time.
"It's difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don't know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women."
Around the same time, however, film star Parker began distancing herself from her former on-screen beau, sparking speculation of a bitter feud having taken place behind the scenes.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that took place in 2022, the Ohio actress claimed she'd not been in contact with Noth since the scandal.
When asked, 'As a producer, what was your reaction?', she responded: "I don’t even know if I’m ready to talk about it, but I don’t think - I wasn’t reacting as a producer. I should have worked on this because I’m just... it’s just..."
The pair's co-stars Nixon and David also shared a joint statement at the time the accusations came to light, claiming they were 'deeply saddened' to hear them.
"We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences," the pair added.

"We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it."
What's the latest?
Noth seemed to confirm these fall-out rumours surrounding this week, by seeming to take aim at the six-time Golden Globe award-winner on social media.

The most recently celebrity drama kicked off when Parker was honoured with the Carol Burnett Award at this year's ceremony for her outstanding contributions to TV.
Accepting the accolade, she reflected on working with the 'most glorious ensemble of women and actors' on Sex and the City for over 25 years.
Seemingly in response to the win, Noth took to Instagram to share a rather unamused image of himself working out.
"F&@k New Years - LET'S GO!" he captioned the snap.
Convinced the Wisconsin star might have had specific intentions behind this, one of his followers asked: "You mean f**k sjp & her award right? lol."
Astonishingly, Noth confirmed the theory, writing back almost immediately: "Right."
Blindsided by the brutal comment, a second fan questioned: "WHAT DID I MISS SOMETHING?"

Another added: "LMFAOOOO WOAH?????"
"He’s just bitter that they [wrote] him off the show," a third guessed.
Tyla has contacted representatives for Noth and Parker for comment.
