Paris Hilton has been fiercely defended by fans after her reaction to her two-year-old saying 'f**k' sparked major backlash online.

The 44-year-old The Simple Life star took to TikTok on Wednesday (19 February) to share a short clip of her and her son, Phoenix, who she welcomed with husband Carter Reum back in 2023.

The pair were sitting in a kitchen while little Phoenix was eating with Paris cuddling up to him with their heads pressed together. The overlay text read: "When you think you're capturing a sweet moment and then..."

The little tot then, seemingly out of nowhere, blurted out the swear word prompting Paris to crack up laughing with shock as she said to someone off camera: "Did you just hear that?!"

"It's on video?" the person off camera replied as Paris asked the toddler to repeat what he had said: "What did you just say?!"

Politely obliging with his mother's request, Phoenix smiled and said 'f**k' again while Paris went: "What?!"

"Could not hold it together," the overlay text on the video read as Paris, still laughing, giggled: "Oh my God."

Phoenix then said the word again while looking at Paris as she was left quite literally gobsmacked while onscreen text read: "How do you not laugh at this?!"

"F**k," the child said once more while Paris went 'Oh!' while looking to the person off-camera still in shock.

The short clip, which has since racked up more than 3.4 million views, was captioned: "I know I shouldn’t laugh but I can’t help it!

"Toddlers are actually little comedians!"

After watching the video, it's clear many viewers couldn't wait to share their criticism, with one social media hitting out: "You hide the chuckle, then set boundaries and teach."

"So sad!" lamented another before dramatically claiming: "Reason our new generation is so dysfunctional."

And a third critic piped up: "It's not funny. You should teach your child better things."

Others, however, were far less scathing, with one fan writing: "Omg people need to lighten up! This is funny! If you have kids, and you have never laughed when they’ve said a bad word you’re lying!!!"

A second penned: "Not that serious! We all have been in this position and giggled."

"Guys can you calm down? It's a funny and cute moment?" pointed out a third. "Most parents laugh when a baby swears cause it's something you don't expect. She's not condoning it, it's just a tiny moment that was cute and funny."

And a final social media user echoed: "So everybody is high and mighty now? Like it's not hilarious to hear your kids first swear word."
