Saturday Night Live star Chloe Fineman is facing widespread criticism after telling a story of how she ‘pantsed’ a six-year-old boy during summer camp.
The American actress and comedian, 37, made the controversial confession during an interview with Vanity Fair, which was published on 31 March.
She sat down with her co-stars Mikey Day, Sarah Sherman, Ashley Padilla, Jane Wickline, and James Austin Johnson to play a game testing how well they know each other.
Fineman, who joined SNL as a cast member in 2019, asked the group to guess what job she was fired from and later rehired for when she was 16.

After they threw in their guesses, the comedian revealed: "I was fired as a camp counsellor. I pantsed a boy."

She continued: "He would lift my shirt all the time. It was a different time. He would be like, ‘Hey, could I have a hug?’ And then I’d go to hug him, and he’d lift my shirt, like a d**k."
Fineman concluded: "And then I was like, ‘I’m going to get back at you'. And so we were on a hike, and I was like, ‘Hey, Ollie, go look over there. It’s a hawk'. He looked, and then I yanked his pants down, and then I was fired."
According to Variety, the Vanity Fair video was edited and removed Fineman saying that the boy was six, as well as that his 'little ding-a-ling was out'.
"He wasn’t wearing underpants, and then a giant school bus drove by," she said.
The original video of the interview also showed Padilla telling Fineman: “Oh, honey, I think you’re on a list somewhere.”
Her castmates gasped in shock at the unexpected story, with some covering their faces, as she argued that it was a 'different time'.
Fineman's comments have resulted in a wave of backlash on social media, with viewers writing on X: "Why would she admit this??" and "The way she just didn’t have to say this."
A third wrote: "Pulling a kid's pants down at 16 as "revenge"? That's not funny, it's straight-up wrong. No wonder they tried to edit it out. Different time or not, some things don't age well."

While a fourth agreed: "The way my jaw dropped" and a fifth penned: "Oh okay so I didn’t realize the Chloe Fineman pantsing thing was when she was a teenager, and the boy was six years old uhhhhhhhh."
A sixth chimed in with: "‘This is such a disturbing thing to admit in an interview and omg the uncomfortable laughter among the cast mates, I feel so bad for them."
And a seventh added: "‘Can’t comprehend how any public figure in 2026 would share this story proudly and publicly, regardless of whether or not they personally think it’s an issue."
Tyla has contacted a representative for Fineman and Vanity Fair for comment.
