A particularly heartwarming gesture that Ozzy Osbourne made earlier this month has come to light, following the tragic news of his passing.
The Black Sabbath musician's death was announced in a statement issued to press by his family yesterday (22 July), which claimed the 76-year-old had passed away 'surrounded by love'.
"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," the emotional message began.
"He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."

In the hours since the devastating news hit headlines across the globe, many fans of the singer star have been sharing stories on the highs and lows of his wild life in the spotlight, which was famously defined by sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll.

Away from the headline stages and reality TV cameras, however, the father-of-six was believed to be quite the softie.
In fact, just a handful of days before his death, Osbourne is said to have raised a staggering £140million for charity.

After hosting a final gig in his hometown of Birmingham on 5 July, he and his bandmates split the profits between Birmingham Children's Hospital, Acorns Children's Hospice, and the Cure Parkinson's charity. The show's director, Tom Morello told press that a huge proportion of the funds had been raised through revenue from livestreams and merchandising.
Osbourne himself was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019 - though, it hasn't yet been confirmed whether the condition contributed to his passing.
The extent of the fundraising spurred by the concert performance has since seen the main man himself posthumously showered in mass praise from fans, many of whom didn't realise that charity was the intention behind the entire event.
