Molly Smith reveals unique wedding-day ritual she did to 'clear her mind' after breaking major tradition with Tom Clare
Molly Smith has revealed the unusual way she ‘calmed herself down’ on the morning of her wedding, after she tied the knot with Tom Clare in a gorgeous ceremony last month.
Chatting exclusively to Tyla, the newlyweds delved into the details of both their Stockport civil courthouse wedding and the stunning Mallorca nuptials that followed.
Molly, 32, and Tom, 27, who met in the Love Island: All Stars villa in January 2024, said ‘I do’ at the clifftop venue, Son Marroig, on 22 August, surrounded by their family and friends.
Opening up on their perfect day, Tom gushed: “Everything was perfect. The adrenaline you get and the love you feel on that day. There’s nothing like it.

“I knew it was gonna be amazing, but it was just perfect; it felt like a dream. I wouldn’t change anything.”
Meanwhile, Molly revealed the unexpected ‘calming’ ritual she made sure to do on her wedding morning to calm the big-day jitters while her bridesmaids were getting ready.
She told Tyla: “I literally went to the gym the morning of our wedding and just walked on the treadmill to make me feel a bit clearer.
“The gym environment calms me down; it sounds strange, but it does. I just wanted that, getting out of the room while the girls are there getting their hair done. Just a moment to myself, walking, clearing my mind, and then going back to the room to carry on getting ready.”
Despite choosing to be in the gym on her wedding morning, Molly made it clear that she wasn’t going to succumb to the unfair pressures women face of having to ‘fit into a dress’ or be a specific size beforehand.
She explained: “I am a bit of a gym girlie anyway, and I go to the gym for clearing my mind. The way it helps your body can be a bonus, but I don’t go thinking I need to be a certain weight or a certain size, or I need to look like XYZ.
“When I went wedding dress shopping, I wanted a dress that I felt good in, and I wanted to wear the dress - I didn’t want the dress to wear me. I wasn’t trying to fit into a dress, I wasn’t trying to think, ‘Oh, I’m gonna be this size when I get married,’ I kind of wanted to find a dress that fit me there and then and that I felt was the right style for me.”
Molly told her new husband: “You’ve loved me for the way I’ve been for the last however many years - one day isn’t gonna change.”
It comes after Tom and Molly broke a major wedding tradition during their courthouse ceremony in July by getting ready together and spending the morning in each other’s company, rather than spending time apart ahead of the nuptials.
Fans were shocked when they saw the duo posting TikToks together in their wedding gear before saying 'I do'.
Explaining the reason for the unexpected decision, Tom said: “I know the legal wedding was the main wedding, but to us it probably wasn’t. The main wedding was in Mallorca, so we did all the traditional things for the main wedding.”
Molly agreed: “Because it was just so intimate, it was just super close family, and just us, we wanted to just spend the night together, and get ready together.”
She revealed that they did eventually separate before walking down the aisle, and Molly went into a room with her dad, but they did the ‘whole build-up together ’, which made the whole experience feel ‘more relaxing’.
The Love Island star admitted: “We said after the legal wedding we didn’t feel like husband and wife yet and then since we’ve done the abroad one, it has sunk in a little bit more.”
